El Patio — Restaurant in San Felice del Benaco

TOURISTS BE WARNED! Terrible tourist trap. We should've left when we didn't see any locals there, our mistake. We decided to eat here because the place looks nice from the outside and had a generally ok ambiance. The pizza tasted cheap and the dough was more dry and tasted worse than if they had served us off-brand next-day frozen pizza. Ridiculous service charge of 10€ despite inattentive waiters who didn't even know what the dishes were called. The drinks were the worst however. Sangria tasted as if it had been made with vinegar and rotting fruit, and Aperol Spritz was so awfully mixed that it was barely drinkable. Horrific waste of time and money, and judging by the response to other negative reviews, an incredibly entitled, incompetent and unrepentant owner. Made a reservation, the staff gave us a ‘we rather won’t have you’ look. We got situated on the balcony which is a nice place to sit. Unfortunately we had to wait for 15 minutes before someone arrived and we could finally get a seat for our 1,5 year old daughter. The starter (samosas) where ok, but too salty for our taste. Main course was pasta vongole which was honestly the worst I had (and again salty), I did not enjoy the taste, I have to admit that there was plenty of clams in the pasta. The other main course was steak, which was a salty and we both got the idea that the steak was battered to make it tender (which did not improve the taste at all).

I spend 2 weeks around san felice and this was by far the worst...

Menù turistico (probabilmente studiato per gli stranieri) e porzioni esageratamente abbondanti, che in questo caso si sono rivelate una pecca anziché un pregio. Abbiamo ordinato la paella e un fritto. La paella (di qualità discreta, per non dire mediocre) era talmente abbondante che abbiamo chiesto con tempestività alla cameriera di annullare il fritto (ci avrebbe fatto piacere assaggiarlo ma non siamo nemmeno riusciti a finire il primo piatto). Per incomprensioni del personale invece ci hanno comunque portato il secondo che abbiamo rifiutato perché troppo pieni. Molto gentilmente non ci è stato addebitato in conto, abbiamo apprezzato la correttezza del gesto ma siamo usciti dispiaciuti di non essere riusciti ad assaggiare nient'altro e un po' imbarazzati per l'accaduto. RISPOSTA ALLA RISPOSTA: Mi dispiace che prendiate la mia recensione in modo bellicoso. Un ristorante che in menù annovera ad esempio gli spaghetti alla Bolognese, da Bolognese quale sono, mi sento di definirlo turistico, che non è un difetto ma chi viene deve esservi preparato e una recensione serve anche a questo. Abbiamo chiesto cortesemente e tempestivamente alla cameriera se era possibile poter cancellare il fritto, offrendoci comunque di pagarlo, non per mancanza di rispetto ma perché sarebbe stato cibo sprecato e riteniamo sia meno rispettoso buttare il cibo. La cameriera ci ha risposto che era possibile (anche perché un fritto va cotto al momento) poi ci deve essere stata un'incomprensione del personale poiché un altro ragazzo ci ha portato il fritto (abbondante pure quello) tempo dopo senza sapere nulla. La cameriera è tornata, ammettendo di aver capito male. Non so cosa sia successo...La scelta di non addebitarlo è stata vostra e come ho scritto abbiamo apprezzato il gesto, non richiesto da noi, che ci ha appunto imbarazzato. Ho viaggiato molto e mangio spesso al ristorante ma una paella per 2 di queste proporzioni non l'avevo mai vista....
