A Modo Mio — Restaurant in San Vincenzo

Disappointing Sunday night at this basic pizzeria.

Arrived around 20:30 after booking on the go with wife and two children and left 2 hours later with just one dish each in our stomach and many more drinks than planned. Staff members were friendly and fast with taking orders but while the two cooked dishes were served quickly from the kitchen, the pizza Margherita and calzone Classico took 1h and 15mins to reach our table. This wasn't due to any mistake or forgetfulness, the restaurant was just way too packed for the capacity of the only pizza oven and two pizza chefs so all the tables had huge waiting times. We were hoping for a quick restoring and tasty meal end ended up with a small sharing dinner, lots of rounds at Uno and eventually crying kids.

Cherry on top one of our drinks got repeatedly forgotten and ended up double booked on the bill... When I went to pay and asked if this sort of waiting times were regular business in this place I got answered with a smile that on the weekend I should have expected it! "Regular customers are fully aware and don't mind at all and if you visit the restaurant for the first time you may be shocked but the food is so good that eventually you will come back, so see you in the middle of the week when it is quieter and pizzas are served quicker!"

Well this could be your way (A modo mio) but it's not mine, I had plenty of pizzas better than yours all around Italy and a couple abroad and the ones I remember the best are those that were served within 20 minutes from my order, just in time to order a second chilled beer... so I am afraid: houdoe and see you...

Pizze buonissime, grandi e ben farcite. Camerieri giovani e cordiali. Unico peccato è stato il trattamento dei clienti intolleranti al glutine e al lattosio.

Avevamo chiamato in anticipo per prenotare un tavolo, chiedendo se fosse possibile avere una pizza senza glutine; non ci sarebbero stati problemi "a patto che il cliente si assuma il rischio delle contaminazioni" (cosa che è lecita in un ristorante non certificato gluten free). Stessa cosa valeva per la persona intollerante al lattosio, alla quale però è stato richiesto di portarsi da casa le mozzarelle lactose free da dare al pizzaiolo. Arrivati a cena abbiamo scoperto che non sarebbe stato possibile cucinare la pizza senza glutine perché era finito l'impasto (nonostante noi avessimo prenotato già un giorno prima), quindi un cliente ha cenato solo con affettati e formaggi. L'altro intollerante al lattosio invece si è trovato una sorpresa sul conto, perché nonostante si fosse portato le mozzarelle da casa, la sua pizza (bianca, farcita solo coi funghi) era quella che è costata di più. Forse frutto di un errore di distrazione da parte del personale? Spero di sì. Non abbiamo chiesto giustificazioni per mancanza di tempo, visto che il personale era molto indaffarato ed era tarda serata per tutti.

In generale quindi sconsiglio a chiunque abbia esigenze alimentari di frequentare questa pizzeria la quale, ricordiamoci, non è un ristorante certificato nella preparazione di piatti per persone allergiche e non garantisce un ottimo servizio per quelle intolleranti. Per chi invece non ha esigenze particolari la pizzeria resta un'ottima scelta per sfamare un grande appetito con...

Haben die vielen guten Bewertungen gelesen und darauf vertraut. Das Gesamtpaket hat uns dann aber leider doch etwas enttäuscht. Vorneweg, das Essen ist gut, wenn es denn kommt. Und da haben wir schon das Problem. Wir hatten eine junge Kellnerin, welche aber nur ein paar Brocken Englisch konnte. Dadurch war die Bestellung von Getränken bereits schwierig. Ist Englisch kein Fach in der italienischen Schulbildung? Nachfragen zu Gerichten waren somit nicht möglich. Hatte die Pizza mit Trüffelöl und Steinpilz. Leider hatte ich keine Tomatensoße auf der Pizza, dafür extra viel Käse plus das Öl oben drauf. Da hatte ich mir was anderes vorgestellt, ich war enttäuscht. Haben später gesehen, dass es diese Pizza eben auch ohne Tomatensoße auf der Karte gibt. Und da sind wir wieder bei den Verständigungsschwierigkeiten. Ein Essen wurde komplett vergessen. Eine Nachfrage nach etwa 5 Minuten, ob alles passt, blieb leider völlig aus. Das sollte eigentlich Standard sein. Dann wäre das fehlende Essen auch aufgefallen.

Speisekarte müsste überarbeitet werden, evtl. Fotos der Pizzen hinzufügen keine Getränkekarte vorhanden keine guten Englischkenntnisse der Kellnerin Toilette ohne Seife...
