Quintessenza Restaurant — Restaurant in Sanremo

We had an absolutely amazing lunch experience at this restaurant. Really compares to nothing before. We were 2 couples coming from France and my God, we were so impressed with the service, the plating, the taste, the interior, the table arrangement, everything !! I cannot praise them enough. We spoke Italian so probably that helped too a bit, otherwise it seemed that all the personnel spoke other languages too. They all went the extra mile to make our lunch really special. All our dishes were delicious, we even received pizza and focaccia from the house, so we almost didn't care at the end that we had to pay the obnoxious coperto. I guess this will really never change in Italy. We will be back for sure. 😀 Also very decent prices compared to France (137€ 4 people with coffee...

Devo essere onesto sono rimasto un po’ deluso, non si discute nulla del locale… se solo fossimo nei primi anni 2000. Voglio essere più preciso:

1. Il RISTORANTE è ben posizionato all’inizio della strada principale tra il casinò e l’Ariston quindi perfetto! Il problema è che il locale è rimasto bloccato così da tempo. Per carità carino ma per la nomea che ha credevo fosse un po’ più ‘moderno’. Il bagno a collegamento con l’hotel vicino crea un po’ di inconvenienti ma sono problemi (immagino) architettonici. Bello il posto dove abbiamo con il tavolo rotondo ed il divano circolare come sedute peccato che dietro di noi ci fosse una quintalata di polvere che, diciamoci la verità, non è il massimo;
2. CIBO… stessa cosa del ristorante però con una certezza, poca cura nella presentazione e scelte di cotture ben al di sotto. Esempi lampanti sono le tartellette di benvenuto messe lì come se fossero i taralli da finire la domenica sera ed il risotto del giorno dove il risotto con burrata, tartare di gamberi rossi e GOCCE di crema agli spinaci è sembrato più che altro qualcosa che non credo si debba scrivere (vedete la foto). Sul sito i piatti sono tanto ben presentati e citati e poi… In più le cotture del polpo e del baccalà un po’ deludenti e le salse senza senso. Dolce invece buono anche se la presentazione lasciava molto a desiderare;
3. SERVIZIO partito molto male con una persona che ci accolti veramente male sembrando quasi infastidito. Per fortuna che dopo la comanda è venuto un altro ragazzo molto gentile e professionale che ci ha davvero ‘coccolati’ per tutta la cena;
4. CONTO alto… magari giusto nel contesto, nella posizione del ristorante e del menù che propone ma onesto ho speso tanto per quel che abbiamo visto e mangiato.

Non credo tornerò, spero solo che il locale si...

Great experience, we tried it one year ago and what a pleasure to eat at the Quintessenza ! Waiters are kind, available and will try their best for you to have a great experience.

We had to wait a little bit for our food but the restaurant was already full, and we received several appetizers while waiting. Also, some street artist was playing few acoustic chords and it expanded our experience.

Feel free to ask anything regarding allergies etc... everyone is kind and will listen to your wishes
