Ristorante La Vita è Bella — Restaurant in Sanremo

Every time we visited Sanremo, our whole family would always come to this restaurant. We always enjoyed the delicious food, good wine selection, and nice desserts. In the summer of 2025, we came back again with our friends, telling them with confidence that this was a great place with good service.

Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. At the beginning of the evening, they served us an Aperol that was almost clear, with hardly any ice and just mineral water — we had to ask for a replacement. Later, the waiter accidentally spilled water from a plate onto my dress — we were understanding about this too.

However, the most unpleasant part happened later: when we were the only guests left in the restaurant, the entire staff stood at the entrance staring at us, which made us feel very uncomfortable. One of the staff members even sat behind us and started smoking, even though she could clearly see that we had two strollers with sleeping children. When we politely asked her not to smoke right next to the strollers, she rudely replied that the restaurant was actually closed and everyone was waiting for us to leave. This was said in a very disrespectful and unfriendly tone.

A waiter could have easily and politely reminded us of the restaurant’s closing time — there was no need for rudeness.

As for the food, we have no complaints — although the desserts were overly sweet this time. It’s really a pity, because we used to love this place. Sadly, we won’t be...

Excellent food. Loved lobster pasta and swordfish carpacio, tiramisu. Complimentary Vegetable souffle is a nice touch. Bread is charged additionally even if you didnt ask for it. But something is deeply wrong with the service. We were the first to arrive and waited for 3 out of 4 mains for 45 minutes. One main arrived very quickly so by the time we got the remaining food it was already finished. The waiter took one of our big spoons and put on the other table nevermind that we have licked it already =)) a couple next to us waited for their change for 20 minutes only when they stepped out on the street, the waiter called them back saying sorry i think i owe you some money. The table of 8 started to get the same orders before us when we arrived first. It is a large restaurant and it was all full on the terrace (25 tables?). Waiters were very polite and accomodating but maybe they need more staff on the floor? Something is clearly not working, perhaps they need to watch "Hell Kitchen" with Gordon Ramsey to start working as a team? ;) felt...

I ordered a pasta with vongole, it lacked any form of tast (might as well have ordered pasta with prezzemolo) and also contained an absurd amount of tiny broken shells between the spaghetti. I am sorry but if I order a pasta for 18 euros the bare minumum I expect is not having to chew through broken shells and possibly hurt my mouth! Furthermore, I ordered the turist menu, and after ordering by mistake a dessert that was not on the menu, they charged me extra 2 euros over a dinner that probably cost something around 140 euros, to then make a scene and say they were gonna give us some digestives for free... what kind of behaviour is this? Would...
