Ristorante Locarno — Restaurant in Santa Maria Maggiore

I don't like writing bad reviews, so I'll just say that the selection of beers can use improvements both in variety and quality for a start; the food we had tasted decent, but the deer I had didn't quite come off the bone as one would expect, which leads me to believe the meet wasn't slow cooked or pre-boiled, but just treated in wine and then cooked straight up. It still tasted nice though. Service was weird, unlike so many Restaurants in Italy it would appear Locarno doesn't believe in bringing bread to the table. Waiting also could have used some 'winding down', but I'm blaming it on young age. Did not try teir pizzas, which looked nice. Location is very nice, and close to bars and a huge parking lot, with but a few improvements this could turn into a proper...

Behind the restaurant is also a place outside, which is okay-ish. The pizza is really not so amazing, but okay, also not very bad. The dishes we ordered came in separately. The meat of one dish was cold. The pizza's don't have great quality, when it comes to the crust and the quality of the toppings and the preparation. But, they're a good price and when you can't find anything better and your expectations are not too high, then this is fine. Esperienza da dimenticare e ristorante da chiudere. Siamo stati ieri insieme ad amici, nell'occasione del nostro anniversario di matrimonio, abbiamo organizzato un viaggio sul treno Vigezzina-Centovalli, fermata programmata a Santa Maria Maggiore. Abbiamo prenotato al Ristorante Locarno in mattinata per il pranzo alle ore 13:30, siamo arrivati alle 13:20 e ci hanno chiesto di accomodarci fuori perché eravamo in anticipo. Alle 13:35 ci hanno chiamato e fatti sedere al tavolo, alle 13:50 le ordinazioni erano state prese, l'antipasto (tagliere di salumi con gnocco fritto) ci viene servito alle 14:20 circa poi si sono dimenticati di noi... Dopo sollecitazione alle14:50 circa arriva il cameriere con i secondi (avevamo ordinato come secondo, cotoletta di cinghiale con polenta e vengono portate costolette alla brace) da precisare che avevamo ordinato anche i primi piatti, facciamo presente la cosa e finalmente ci vengono serviti, poi successivamente ci vengono serviti i secondi di cui sopra specificando che avevano fatto un errore di trascrizione nel menu' e non c'erano le cotolette ma le costolette alla brace. Per concludere, servizio pessimo, cibo pessimo e pulizia inesistente. Parte della giornata, completamente rovinata!!! Con la loro inefficienza abbiamo rischiato di perdere il treno delle 15:55 per Domodossola. Mai...
