Having been on holiday in Sardinia for around 3-4 days at the time of our visit here we had got used to the way things work here in regards to eating times for evening meals. Don’t expect to sit down to dinner at 6pm like in the UK!

We arrived at Food Lab for somewhere around 7:30 ish to find we were the only customers. This lasted for until about 8 when a few other tables had customers. It always feels a little weird when your the only ones there, and due to the location kinda felt like we were in someone’s garden 😂.

The lady who served us was very polite and professional. I went for a burger 🍔 with egg and fries in it!!! To be honest, it was nicer than expected as it didn’t look that great when it arrived yet I was pleasantly surprised! Very tasty 😋. My wife also ordered a burger, but a chicken one. She said the chicken was very small, tasted ok but felt it should been a larger fillet.

After 3 different pizzas in Italy, I was getting concerned that we wouldn’t find a better pizza than we have at home in New York. Luckily Food Lab delivered a delicious, authentic Italian pizza with fresh ingredients and even better service! The Margarita 2.0 was everything you could ask for with confit tomato, Stracciatella, basil and a dough that was memorable.

If you’re lucky, you will be served by Luigi, who was also in charge of the music, playing familiar upbeat house tunes on their restaurant patio. There is no English menu or translation so come prepared with google translate or an Italian friend if you’re not familiar with the language. You won’t find another American in sight at this...

Our order was mixed up, anyway, which was fine for us. Food was fine. However, we asked if they serve hugo spritz and they said yes. This is our favourite cocktail which we order all the time, so we know how it should taste. The cocktails we received here - it was no way near Hugo Spritz, we did not like it, the taste was odd and bad, I could not finish mine.
