Bellavista Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Santu Lussurzu/Santu Lussurgiu

This is a difficult one. The place is very nice, located on the 1st floor in a larger hall. Very nice staff, local people come to dine. We chose a 4 course menue. Food is nicely arranged, beautiful setups. And it is very different from all the Sardic food we tasted so far. To cut this short: it was a wonderful 3h dinner, it was just simply too much. The 4 appetizers were big, filling. We could have stopped, but it was so tasty, so it is hard. With full stomach for primo and secondo, there was not much left. It is definitely worth going there. Just keep in mind what is coming. Or choose single dishes. Wonderful Pasta, the risotto with balsamic was a bit balsamic heavy, it overwrote the taste. The meat rolls had a wonderful bitter note. Andai in un ristorante che prometteva mari e monti, ma mi ha consegnato solo mari asciutti e monti di delusioni culinarie. Ho ordinato due aperitivi che sembravano provenire direttamente da un esperimento culinario fallito: un flan cotto, ricotto e ricotto che avrebbe fatto invidia a un deserto. E poi c'era quel pane carasau con un uovo e un sugo tanto aspro da farmi stringere la bocca come se avessi assaggiato un il limone .

Decisi di osare con delle patate al forno e una bistecca, ma ho ottenuto più sorprese che soddisfazioni. La bistecca era così tenera che sembrava provenire da un terreno di gioco per bambini piuttosto che da una vera cucina, e le patate al forno sembrava di masticare una scarpa vecchia e asciutta dentro, una vera esperienza culinaria!

Quando arrivò il conto, mi chiesero un prezzo che mi fece chiedere se avessi mangiato al ristorante sbagliato. 75 euro per due aperitivi noiosi, un primo e un secondo che avrebbero fatto piangere una nonna sarda!

Decisi di pagare in fretta e fuggire, ma il colpo di grazia arrivò quando il "chef" fece la sua apparizione sulla soglia, sicuro di sé e pronto a difendere il suo cibo come se fosse il Santo Graal della cucina. Gli dissi il mio parere riguardo al sugo poco cotto, ma lui mi guardò come se avessi appena suggerito di servire il cibo su un piatto di carta igienica. Insisteva sul fatto che la sua cucina fosse perfetta, e io decisi che era meglio continuare ad andarmene tanto ero già sulle scale e discutere con lui sarebbe stato come cercare di insegnare a un pesce a nuotare sulla...

I wanted to leave a bad review because the service really was bad from the waiters/host/food runners. Wouldn't let us order anything but pizza had to constantly tell them to bring simple things like glasses, forks, drinks. But the pizza was really good. You could tell the guy was dedicated to his craft.
