French below
What an evening!
The little locality only has around 22 spaces to sit- which is why they fill ip rather quickly- there is two big tables and one for a couple.
There's ONLY PIZZA- well, and drinks.
As Tonio, who is the embodiment of a pizza baker as you imagine it, is working his wooden oven one pizza after another (and all alone), you have to be ready to decelerate your evening.
If you do not want to wait, put in a reservation or order the thin, crispy flavorful pizza to takeaway.
If you decide to stay, you will be sure to have company around you- bonus points if you speak French such as the chef ;)
The pizza was great- it was so good, that we ordered a third one after indulging the first two. It is thin, crispy and the toppings are fresh and local.
Note, that there is no service tax which means you eat out of pizza cartons with a fork only- it is part of the ambiente and honestly, who eats pizza with cutlery- that's the true crime here. you will eat cheap in comparison to other places, which is also why you can find many locals here.
Be ready for a typical italian night in a tiny old house in the heart of Santa Lussurgio- if you can find it on the first try you are good ;)
Final note: as we had two flat tires we left one of our bikes in the town. Only to come back later as we were missing our car key.. I was desparate and called Tonio- who offered his help in searching. We did find the keys but thank you again for the great food, the slow-paced evening and your help.
We will come back on our next time in Sardegna and until then I will practice my French to be able to talk to you better.
Thanks!

Merci beaucoup!

Read moreBest freaking pizza place in my life. I don't even know where to start, maybe the rustic authentic feel as though Italy was frozen in the 50s. Or perhaps how the kindness of the staff was so infectious it bled into the customers always making sure to greet you ( not even my own family say hello and bye as much as this ). Knowing it's family run is amazing too.
An endless choice of pizzas something for everyone and if there's nothing that's too your fancy, don't worry they're more than happy to accommodate. I had the Deliziosa with mushrooms and would greatly recommend. I think my senses were overload with joy. My tastes buds tingly, my ears relaxed, the smell gorgeous.
It was impossible not to finish it all in once and then burst into a fit of laughter, like a true Italian man getting fat on food...

We were welcomed with a smile and GREEK music (and Tonio didn’t even know that I am Greek)... No worries, he plays every kind of music, it was just a coincidence. A funny one. Inside the Locanda there are two big wooden tables, kitchen, oven e basta! We liked the atmosphere there very much. Simple and nice. Antonio and his family are lovely hosts. They treated us like part of the whole group. Surrounded by local Italian guests, we had great fun. His daughters played with our little son. They were lovely together!
And the Pizza, delicious! Can’t remember when we had a better one... definitely a must-try!
Tanti auguri to you and your family, Antonio! We had a wonderful time.
