The 1 star is only for the wait staff who were friendly, however, the food was horrible and when taking into account the price, it’s crazy. We only went there because our hotel (Mare Hotel) restaurant was full and they recommended to go to that place nearby. To summarise, it was one of the worst meals we had in a while. The starter was just a plate of deep fried prawns and veg (didn’t mention in the menu it was deep fried at all) and you could taste the very old oil used. Then for the main I ordered the sea bass fillet which was fine but my husband ordered the fried fish platter and we were speechless. All kinds of sea food that was simply thrown on the grill, no flavour, no seasoning. Some was grilled burnt and some barely cooked. My partner ate a bit of what looked safe but felt sick for 2 days afterwards. We also had a side of veg, again just 6 pieces of veg grilled, no flavour or seasoning and they charged €12. Finally desert was supposed to be a brownie but unsure what it actually was, probably a ready made package cake heated up in the microwave. One good point, we ordered a nice bottle of wine, but it was way too expensive but fine, most restaurants always over charge. Bill arrived and we were gobsmacked €200 which is unacceptable for the quality of the food served. Not recommending to anyone and I can’t believe the hotel sends guests there! (I’ve never ever left bad reviews but this one...
Read moreIt was not easy to find out about this restaurant. And maybe that's the real reason. Because otherwise it wouldn't be possible to sit here next time. The environment here is unbelievable. Here is modern restaurant art and facilities from the last century combine in outdoor seating under the roof. An ideal and great place for dinner or just to sit with an excellent bottle of Ferrari Prosecco. The world is perfectly fine here and the locals know it. Owner is a complete professional and is communicative enough that one learns a lot of great information. Amazing collection of wines and Prosecco. It's already the most popular place here and I'm already looking forward to...
Read moreOn our summer holiday travels from the cote d’azur to Lake Como, we wanted to stop for a nice lunch close to the sea. Our meals exceeded that wish. The owner is quite funny and was so patient with my rusty Italian, even though he spoke perfect English. We had fritto misto, which was lightly fried and perfectly salted. We then had three pastas (spaghetti di mare, ink pasta with langoustine, and gamberi with zucchini)and an order of mussels. Every bite was just what we wanted. Our server was so polite and helpful, too. I only wish we were staying in the area so I could have had a rose wine with the meal. I hope our travels bring us...
