I.GLOO Sky Bar and Food — Restaurant in Sestriere

Firstly, I would like to address that we have been waiting over 40 minutes for our food and later the waitress came and told us that the kitchen didn’t get our order so we had to re order. When we reordered, later we asked for some lemon to our tea. The pieces of lemon looked rotten and horrible. I have ordered fried calamari- the food smelled expired and you could’ve seen that it was frozen, with pieces of burnt broccoli and carrots. (Calamari cost 30€!!) Approfittando della possibilità di poter pranzare al ristorante, siamo andati a testare l’Igloo di Sestriere. Posizione del locale molto bella con vista sulle montagne e sulle piste da sci. Parcheggio molto comodo. La struttura consta di tre settori: le terrazze esterne, adatte a giornate con sole e dotate anche di due igloo bellissimi dove si può mangiare, ma solo su prenotazione o cenare la sala ristorante alta, molto bella e calda dove la gestione ha distanziato i tavoli e che comunque ha una buona capienza (circa 30 persone credo). Ci è piaciuta molto una stufa in ceramica enorme e un soppalcò con vista montagna. la sala ristorante al piano terra, molto ampia e con pareti rivestite con legno vecchio è una vetrata alta circa 10 metri che da sulle piste. Abbiamo notato anche un’area esterna con panche, tavoli in legno e tavolini (credo utilizzabili solo quando c’è il self-service aperto). Il servizio è stato buono (ci hanno fatto scegliere dove accomodarci e decidere cosa ordinare dal menu scaricato dal loro sito attraverso i nostri telefoni). La scelta è buona, così come la qualità (tagliere abbondante e gnocchi con fonduta delicati). La carta dei vini è di quelle importanti (prezzi da 12 € a 200 €) e offrono birra alla spina o in bottiglia oltre che tutte le classiche bevande. Il lieve ritardo nel servizio al tavolo, con relative scuse da parte della signorina che ci seguiva, ci è stato giustificato con la difficoltà di trovare personale disposto a lavorare solo nei week end (e non per tutti, il locale è stato più chiuso che aperto non occupandosi dell’asporto). The ambiance, decor, live music and staff were all perfect, however the 4 course menu and quality of food was absolutely horrible which ruined the evening. On the menu the dishes looked nice and the plating was fine as well, however the execution on the dishes was the worst we've ever experienced.
