Ristorante Almyra — Restaurant in Syracuse

Unfortunately, I didn’t end up eating here due to the stress I experienced at the start. The restaurant has no physical menus — only a QR code to scan — which became quite inconvenient since we were a group of five with just one phone. For me, going out to eat is a luxury and something to enjoy calmly, not a source of stress. Being able to look at a menu together makes the experience more social and relaxed.

I’ll admit I lost my temper a bit out of frustration, but I want to emphasize how friendly and professional the staff remained throughout. That truly impressed me. We had already started on our drinks and I insisted on paying, but the owner refused to charge us — even though we had already drunk half. I really respect that gesture.

Although I didn’t get to try the food, I’m still giving 4 stars purely because of the staff’s kindness and how they handled the situation. I hope in the future they’ll consider having a few printed menus available for emergencies. Not everyone has a modern smartphone or internet access.

A pity it went this way, because I would have loved to eat here....

Prenotiamo un tavolo per 8 persone per aperitivo e cena. Ci viene risposto che "forse" c'è un tavolo. Arriviamo al locale e il tavolo c'è, con tanto di nome prenotazione scritta sopra. Ci sediamo alle 19.45 ordiniamo da bere e l'aperitivo, ma ci prendiamo 5 minuti per scegliere cosa mangiare. Ci portano le cose da bere 20 minuti dopo. nel frattempo siamo pronti a ordinare da mangiare. Arriva un cameriere per prendere le ordinazioni. Sono le 20.15: prende le ordinazioni delle pizze - ancora l'aperitivo non è arrivato- finito il giro di ordinazione delle pizze ci dice: "Ragazzi, non so se ve l'hanno detto, ma questo tavolo è prenotato alle 20.30 da un altro gruppo, quindi fra 15 minuti dovete alzarvi. e ingraziate che ve lo sto dicendo ora" Quindi le pizze sono ordinate, ma nella loro testa le avremmo dovute mangiare in meno di 15 minuti, senza contare che ancora andavano infornate. Chiediamo spiegazioni al gestore del locale, che con aria tronfia senza mascherina e il minimo rispetto della normativa covid, ci parla a tu per tu rispondendo a tono ad ogni nostra contestazione, accusando la ragazza che aveva prenotato celandosi dietro al "forse" detto durante la prenotazione - ribadisco per aperitivo E cena - ma la cosa peggiore è il suo tono, inaccettabile, quasi fossimo noi in torto. Annulliamo, ovviamente le ordinazioni del cibo non pervenute al tavolo. E paghiamo gli 8 cocktail. Ovviamente NEANCHE UN EURO DI SCONTO e MAI UN MI DISPIACE PER L'INCONVENIENTE. NIENTE. Lui era nella ragione, noi nel torto in barba a quella regola del rapporto cliente-ristorante in cui il cliente, quando è educato, HA SEMPRE RAGIONE. Classico posto marmellata di Siracusa in cui un cocktail da 9 euro non arriva, ghiaccio incluso, a metà bicchiere. E l'educazione NON è di casa. VERGOGNOSI.

Edit: dato che la risposta dimostra esattamente l’ria tronfia del gestore sono costretto a rispondere: eravamo in 10: 10 cocktail 9 euro a cocktail, 5 aperitivi da 10/12/20 euro l’uno, e 3 persone che invece dell’aperitivo prendono 3 pizze - invito a vedere i prezzi delle pizze. Ma In 20 minuti di tavolo il conto ha gia superato e di molto le 3 cifre. Il gestore, evidentemente, aveva gia deciso per noi che un gruppo che prenota per aperitivo E cena, dopo l’aperitivo, non mangerá nè berrà altro. E allora si ricorda che il tavolo è già prenotato e ovviamente -sul momento- non pensa la geniale idea che forse stavamo spendendo ancora troppo poco per il suo ideale di cliente. A dimostrazione dell’educazione e della capacità di autocritica di questa persona basta leggere la risposta.

We were at the restaurant with friends at the end of September and were upset that we weren't very hungry. The restaurant is located in a small bay where fishing and other small boats are parked. It is tastefully decorated, the staff (we assume they are the owners of the restaurant) are very nice people and professionals in their field.
