Fontanella — Restaurant in Terni

Fabulous find! This stylish restaurant, with its warm and inviting staff, is a new must-go for me on trips to Terni in southern Umbria, Italy. Located downtown, inside the chic Hotel Valentino, the restaurant is open daily, and serves delightfully innovative takes on traditional Umbrian fare.

Our group was treated to something extra special that can be arranged with the restaurant's manager Eddie Mari - A Truffle Hunting & Lunch Experience that was truly a highlight of our time in Italy. We started the day early in an unidentified location to watch truffle-dog Stella work her magic in a field of oaks, finding 3 enormous truffles! Then, back at the Fontanella, we learned to make a delicate truffle sauce to drape over ciriole, the quintessential pasta of the Terni area. We also helped shape, cut and cook the gnocchi and pizza that would become a part of our multi-course lunch. Every single dish was delicious!

I highly recommend both the Fontanella and Eddie's truffle experience if you're planning a visit to the area. Particularly for groups, it is an interactive adventure no traveler...

L'arredamento del ristorante è moderno e chic, creando un'atmosfera rilassante perfetta per una serata .Mi è piaciuto molto l'ambiente intimo e accogliente di questo posto. Le luci soffuse e la musica soft creano l'atmosfera perfetta. I sapori di ogni piatto erano perfettamente bilanciati e gli ingredienti incredibilmente freschi. Il nostro cameriere ha fatto di tutto per rendere memorabile la nostra esperienza culinaria. E’ stato attento senza essere invadente era estremamente informato sul menu e ci ha offerto ottimi consigli. Ci siamo sentiti ben accolti.Il servizio è stato impeccabile. e il cibo è arrivato prontamente. Ieri notte sono stato a cena al loro locale e ho preso una pinsa con stracciatella e culatello. Molto buona! La pasta della pinsa era perfetta, un po’ croccante fuori, la stracciatella fresca e il culatello di qualità stra saporito. L’abbinamento perfetto. Personale stra gentile. Prezzi giustissimi per la qualità ma non eccessivi (circa sui 20 euro a persona). Lo consiglio, ci tornerò...
