We had a rather disappointing meal here last night. The food was okay but not great. However, it was the most expensive meal we’ve had thus far while on Sardinia. We’ve had MUCH better food on the island for almost half the price at many other restaurants. Plus, we were overcharged for an appetizer we didn’t have and we were given incorrect change back when we paid - exactly 1€ less than it should have been. In the end, we paid 76€ for just an okay meal when it should have been 71€. I understand that 5€ isn’t the end of the world but when the food is already outrageously expensive AND sub par, paying an extra 5€ is not a welcome expense. WARNING: Do not order a salad. You are only given salt and oil for it and the olive oil is the worst I’ve ever had in my life. My husband was sure it was already rancid. I’ve almost exclusively used olive oil for the last 20 years and theirs is more bitter than any other I’ve tried. The house wine is also very sour. Unfortunately, we ordered a whole bottle and worked hard to choke it down so we wouldn’t be rude, but it’s almost undrinkable. The cannolis are also crispy like chips rather than flaky the way they should be. Don’t waste your money on dessert here, and be sure to check your bill and change back...

We ate at Sa Umo multiple times as it is the best restaurant experience you can find. The chef, Egidio, is a highly experienced and gifted creator of food who cares deeply about the ingredients he chooses, farmers he works with and experiences his guests have. Every dish we ate was flawless and we tried as many as we could. Each night was a new culinary array. His staff is made up of his family and it is a light and happy vibe...a good life they share with thier guests. I recommend making a reservation as the place was packed every night and it was in the off season. Worth the drive if you are coming from other nearby towns. We miss his cooking now that we are traveling to other parts of...

You have to struggle a bit to reach the restaurant which is located in a town with (very) narrow streets. However it worth the journey. The place is lovely, the staff and service are great. Menu is made of a great mix of local products. I personally tasted the pasta al vongole and a (awesome) pizza. The pastas were fantastic and the pizza amazing. Don’t hesitate if you are (or can be) in the area. Besides, a special thanks to the waitress yesterday who was so nice explaining us the menu and of a very good advice with wine and meal.
