Just visited this fantastic place. If you love good wine, good food and above all wish to experience Sicilian hospitality at its very best, email Vito and book your "tasting". I write "tasting" because this is not actually a tasting! Visitors are treated to what one can call a full dinner with family.
Vito passionately explains in detail what wines they produce, going back to when the Trapanese people started cultivating Merlot. Needless to say you get to taste all the wines.....but not in a hurry......slowly, just take your time. Every one of their wines is presented with pride, passion and love. You get to taste their young Vermentino, but then you are invited to compare this with the Vermentino which has been in the bottle for more than a year. The same goes for the Merlot, you taste the young one from the steel tank and then you get to compare this to a version which has been matured in barrels for 24 months. Vito then brings the Ambrato.....a white wine to be sampled as a red, in Vito's words. And you mark his words, he knows his wines. Unique - you don't just taste the wine here.....you are invited to immerse yourself in a gastronomic experience. I might also add, an educational experience.
The experience is complemented with food, in generous portions, prepared by Vito's mum. Don't book a dinner at a restaurant after this - Vito and his mum will make sure you leave full. We got fish couscous, ricotta ravioli and caponata with bread, cheese and olives. We got to taste the olive oil pressed by Vito's father. Then the sweet pastries - pair the Ambrato with these!
We planned an hour and a half at Vito's little winery. We stayed there for more than 3 hours. One of the best...
Read moreWe messaged through the WhatsApp link on the website not really expecting them to be able to accommodate us as it was only 24 hours notice. But we got a really quick reply saying they would be able to fit us in for the vineyard tour and wine tasting the next day. Fabrizio and Vito were the most interesting and friendly tour guides, we learned so much. There was so much passion for the craft that it made the experience even better. Once you've visited the vineyards and the traditional family home, you go back to the winery where you get to taste some delicious wines and learn all about them. I am a wine novice, but my friend who I was with is quite knowledgeable and we both got a lot from the tasting. We also had a lovely surprise of some delicious local delicacies cooked by Vito's mother, which were very tasty and helped to line the stomach! This whole excursion was by far the highlight of our trip to Trapani, and I couldn't recommend it enough. A tour that made you feel like part of the family.
Just one tip, ignore Google maps when it tells you there is no public transport to the winery. Obviously you could get a taxi, or even walk if you're feeling particularly active, but we downloaded the app Moovit which showed lots of different bus options and the journey was quick, cheap,...

Our visit to Oddovino was an unforgettable experience! Vito, the owner and winemaker, welcomed us with open arms and shared his family’s rich tradition in winemaking. He manages every step of the process and has a deep passion for promoting Sicily’s wine heritage and boosting the local economy.
We were treated to an incredible meal prepared by Vito’s mother, featuring authentic and delicious Sicilian dishes. It was a true feast! Vito’s extensive knowledge of local wine varieties and his dedication to traditional winemaking techniques made the experience even more special.
We particularly loved the Vino Ambrato, with its stunning amber hue and complex flavors, and we were honored to sample their family’s perpetuo wine straight from the barrel—a rare treat typically reserved for close family.
The combination of fantastic wines, heartfelt hospitality, and learning about Sicily’s wine history made this visit truly exceptional. Oddovino is a must-visit for anyone exploring the...
