Ristorante Casagrande — Restaurant in Umbertide

A local restaurant serves local dishes. We came and saw a restaurant full of locals eating their lunch and then we understood we came to the right place.

At lunch there is a special menu. We took a starter (soup and ravioli) and also meat balls (made with chicken) and schnitzel (was ok). The hero of the meal was tiramisu - big WOW!!

Each dish came quickly and fresh.

The staff were super friendly and knew English (no menu in English).

Don't look after special interesting dishes but if you go there you will find...

Well, we were not happy. The tagliatelle with truffels came without truffels, the plate was full of pasta water, the entrecote was not an entrecote, so the meat was rather dry. The zuccini lasagne had little zuccini and the chicken dish was just ok. They apologised for the missing truffels and offered digestives on the house. I would have given one star, but all the other guests seemed satisfied and their food looked good. So we probably just made the wrong choices. Worth...

We had a mix of feelings! Antipasto Risotto was amazing for second course we choose beef that took 20 min for them to bring and the meat as cold, im pretty sure they cooked and just forgot to bring for at least 15 min, cause a lot of people that arrived after us got they dish pretty fast. The place is really nice with a barista on front door so you can have a expresso. I probably will back and try one more time, maybe the meat...
