Very bad experience!!! I will never go back again! It was a beautiful day in Forte dei Marmi My girlfriend and I decided to have a nice lunch at gilda restaurant, and this is when the bad experience started: The restaurant was almost empty yet they made us wait for 30 minutes for no reason, next we waited for the waitress for additional 20 minutes, we ordered glasses of wine, the glasses of wine were very very dirty, I ordered tuna steak with broccoli waitress gave me raw tuna and over cooked broccoli (very small portion), the bread on the table was very dry like it set outside for hours. we also ordered hot seafood salad but it was cold raw vegetables, inside was only 2 small paces octopus instead of different kinds of seafood. The waitress told me she cant change my order because this is what we ordered. I told her that I will pay for this plate I just need the menu so we can order something else. The waitress said that kitchen is closed and we cant order anything else it was only 2pm. We spent more then one hour just waiting to get served. The worst thing is when we went to pay for food without eating anything the waitress said better for us if you don`t come back. I was very nice and polite the entire time. I paid and left promising her I will tell everyone about our bad experience at gilda restaurant. One star is...
Read moreSo many things to say about this beautiful restaurant! Might be one of the best restaurants I have been in my entire life, if not the best one.. Might be the best food I ever had in Europe! The staff was incredibly cute and friendly - our waiter Marco entertained us all night long with this witty and warm personality, the ambiance was perfect, and the elderly German couple next table started a chat with us , whom we ended up becoming friends with and made us have an amazing night. Bare in mind - they ensured us that this restaurant was something special and unique, and that they kept coming back for over a decade driving from their summerhouse in Florence just for this restaurant. So much that the lady is super close with the restaurant owner nonna, who handed her all the biscuits she made that evening earlier. No need to say she gave us the half of the huge biscuit bag🥹🤍 This all added up to make this not only a magical evening, but the food choices we made were absolutely perfect. (which were approved by the lovely couple who were frequent visiters) The squid was incredibly fresh and soft, the pizza was super unique and my pasta was too good to be true. I would go back to Forte Dei Marmi just for...
Read moreWe visited this legendary seaside restaurant in Forte dei Marmi for the first time as a family and it certainly won’t be our last.
For over forty years, this place has been lovingly run by the same family, passing down not just recipes but a true spirit of hospitality. You can feel it everywhere: in the warmth of the welcome, the attention to detail, and the effortless elegance that defines this spot by the sea.
The food was exceptional. This is not your typical Tuscan fare, but a completely different league. Perfectly cooked seafood, creative dishes that combine freshness and finesse, truffle pizza, and even a delicate foie gras - everything was beautifully balanced, flavorful, and memorable.
Service was impressively fast and friendly, and the location couldn’t be more perfect: right on the beach, where children can play while adults relax and enjoy a glass of wine with the sea breeze.
The wine list deserves a special mention: carefully curated, with excellent Italian selections and an impressive range of Champagnes, which is a real rarity and a true delight for wine lovers.
A true Forte dei Marmi institution: family-run, elegant, and rooted in the spirit of Versilia. We’ll...
