I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our experience at Osteria La Porta was far from satisfactory. The location of our table was dreadful, in a poorly lit, noisy corner. The food lacked any semblance of flavor, tasting more like cardboard than the Italian cuisine we had hoped for. I specifically ordered the saffron pasta, expecting to see a vibrant red hue, a testament to the quality and quantity of the saffron. Instead, what arrived was a plate of lackluster noodles that did nothing to impress. The situation escalated when we ordered a steak for our friend, who is currently expecting. We were clear about needing it well-done for safety reasons. When it arrived, we were appalled to find it significantly undercooked. We were deeply disappointed and hope the management takes our feedback seriously. Osteria La Porta needs major improvements if it's to live up to the reputation of a quality Italian restaurant. At its current price they are stealing people’s money.

My brother’s wedding was at a nearby villa. We came from Canada. It was arguably the best food I’ve had in my life, seconded only by dishes I enjoyed in Rome and Como. It was my first experience with real Italian dining. We had a group of at least 11 and reserved ahead. The view, the service (I have many allergies, and they were fantastic), the town. Osteria La Porta was the cherry on top of our marvelous week long stay in mostly Montichiello and Tuscany. We enjoyed some gnocchi bolognese, delicious beef cheek and many a glass of delicious wine and bruschetta. Our photo of the view was taken just below the balcony of the restaurant; which also has a stunning view.

While we love Italy, there r those really special restaurants that always bring us back - La Porta is that restaurant. The experience is just incredible - savory pastas along with the Tuscan wines as we sit overlooking the vineyards in the Tuscan sun - unforgettable! We had the appetizer of the day - pecorino cheese on a nest with tomatoes - so creative and super yummy. We then had the pappardelle with bolognese - and I had the coca de pepe - all amazing! We have friends coming to join us in Italy next week - and can’t wait to bring them here!

My family and I were there visiting last September. We came in at 6:30pm and were seated at a table in the terrace. At the time we were told that food won't be served until 7 but we could order a drink if we like. We ordered a bottle of wine. At 6:50 we were informed that they needed the table for dinner service at 7:00 we were surprise that we were were not informed about this prior to us ordering but we acknowledge that we needed to leave around 7pm. All the people in our party were done except for one that needed to have a sip or two to finish his wine, Instead of waiting one more minute one of the waiters (none of which were waiting at us) decided that the best wait to tell us to please leave was to snap his fingers at my father and telling us that he needed the table for dinner. That was very rude, because we were not told we needed to be out by 7pm until 10 minutes before and quite honestly what are we his servants to snap the finger at us? The behavior is irreprehensible. We are of Latin American decent and non-white I hope this is not the reason we were treated that way, but just in case if you are a person of color...

Just a negative experience from the very beginning! We had made a reservation to sit on the terrace in advance. When we reached the place we were asked to sit inside to which we replied that our reservation was specifically for a table on the terrace. They told us they had no place and we told them again about our reservation. After insisting twice, we were suddenly told that we could have a table on the terrace!! The staff, especially a young gentleman dressed in a suit (who seemed to be the manager) was not friendly at all and we got the same vibe from one of the waiters. Not even a smile when we paid and were leaving! There was however another waiter (dont know the name but he had long hair tied in a ponytail) who was super nice and we appreciated the friendliness he displayed. The food was just about ok and nothing special. I think there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance that are so much better and have staff that know how to treat...
