LA MAIOLICA RISTORANTE — Restaurant in Urbania

La Maiolica is a small cozy restaurant. It is located on a small street and has both, indoors and outdoors seating. The menu is typical for the region with a great selection or pastas, mains, and wines. We had lunch on a hot summer day and tasted their panzanella salad, pasta, gnocchi, and local wine. Everything was delicious. One of the my favorite things we had was their bread. The restaurant is owned by a couple, with husband being the main chef and wife working with clients. They are very attentive to the needs of their clients and can make changes in dishes if there are intolerances or allergies. I would recommend booking a table as it is a popular place...

Data la stagione veniamo fatti accomodare ad uno dei tavolini esterni allestiti nel vicolo dove risiede quest'attività. La bella stagione invoglia a stare all'esterno come si sa, anche se il vicolo non offre un gran spettacolo e dopo il tramonto c'è poca luce, viene portata una lampada ad ogni tavolo per tamponare questa esigenza ma non sempre è sufficiente a mio avviso.

Il menù è volutamente corto ed assolutamente stagionale, in modo da poter garantire una certa qualità negli ingredienti e non fare impazzire lo chef che qui a quanto pare lavora assolutamente in solo.

Abbiamo preso due primi e due secondi di carne e non ho dubbi: tutto molto buono, qua si mangia bene!

In particolare ho trovato interessanti gli accostamenti fatti col maiale (insieme alle pere) e con la faraona (assieme alle amarene che). La faraona in particolare credo sia stato il miglior piatto della serata ma, ribadisco, in generale ci ha convinto tutto.

Servizio cordiale, gentile, il basso numero di coperti consente di gestire i clienti anche con un'unica persona (che poi alla fine scoprirò essere la compagna dello chef, tutto in famiglia insomma)

Moretto di fano in chiusura (prima volta in assoluto che ne assaggio uno) : mi aspettavo un caffè corretto con liquore, mi sono ritrovato un bicchiere di anice che ha una punta di caffè, ho fatto una nuova scoperta!

In conclusione: consigliato per tutti, andateci! Avessi il voto in decimi darei un 9/10 ed il punto mancante è per il contorno, non...

DELIGHTFUL in EVERY WAY! Delicious, fresh food, sweet little alley seating (and quite charming inside), lovely owner/hostess (from the Ukraine), and her husband/owner/CHEF...awesome!
