La Luge — Restaurant in Valtournenche

It is hard to over exaggerate how good this place is. If you are looking for truly authentic Italian food and hospitality you will not be disappointed with a stay at La Luge.||It is a small, high quality, family run restaurant with rooms, set on it’s own in the valley between Valtournenche and Cervinia. Previously a farmhouse it has recently been fully renovated and tastefully decorated with a cosy mix of rustic wood and modern bathrooms.||We stayed for a week over New Year and had a truly wonderful time.||The owner Paolo and his family are passionate about service and making your stay perfect in every way. Paolo drops you at your lift of choice each morning and collects you when you call after your day on the slopes.||Our family room had a mezzanine for the children and plenty of room for our family of four.||The restaurant is a totally authentic Italian experience with fabulous food and friendly and efficient service. Stayed for ten days at La Luge which is an unbelievably charming family-owned hotel privately located at the foot of the mountains in a beautiful valley overlooking the magnificent Matterhorn (Cervinio). We were totaly blown away by the service-mindedness, attentiveness and dedication of the owner Paolo and his charming wife and truely felt as if we were welcommed into their private loving home. We were equally impressed by the intimate and locally very popular restaurant and thus decided to have dinner there 9/10 nights of our stay. La Luge offered us true Italian family styled hospitality at its absolute finest and set the bar very high for anyone...

Stayed at La Luge for 2 nights, wanted to love it and had been looking forward to it. Positives: Breakfast spread and offerings were wonderful and room was very clean. Negatives: Very loud until 2 am from the kitchen and restaurant, no consideration for guests upstairs. Service was lacking from the owner and staff, they seemed bothered by us at the restaurant and when we needed a ride to the ski lifts that had been scheduled the day before. When we called to be picked up after skiing, the owner acted like it was our fault he was 15 min late. Had one dinner here, food was good, but service was rushed...
