We had the best dining experience in Italy in Le Moulin.

The food is delicious, sufficient-portion, and within a reasonable price. On top, the service here makes a foreigner like me feel warm and comfortable.

We ordered the signature Le Moulin pizza which had an excellent, rich taste. The tartare reminded me of sashimi, which even my 8 years old daughter enjoyed. We licked our fingers after eating the ribs. The ravioli is well accepted by everyone.

There is an exclusive menu for desserts, inside showing wonderful pictures and ingredient descriptions for each selection. The desserts arrived with wonderful (and yummy) sauce plating and my children were delighted.

Two things worth mentioning. A server noticed my son’s non-stop munching on the bread, and she voluntarily packed a bag of bread for him to take out. My daughter ordered Limoncello dessert unaware of the alcohol, and the server offered an additional dessert adding lemon in replacement for her.

So, these are the many reasons we had a great late lunch. (The place opens from breakfast to dinner.) Whether you are spending few days or just passing through Valtournenche, please stop by this restaurant for a quick bite or a slow meal, you will definitely feel satisfied...

The pizza is good. The service is absolutely terrible. I asked a tea, the guy brings me hot water with lemon. When I asked for real tea he brought me a fenchel tea bag (I hope he never had tea before and fenchel is his favorite, but why not tea with tomato and salami?)

To flush the amazing taste of fenchel tea I ordered espresso at the bar, paid for it, and for a while no one was preparing it. Then lady at the counter noticed me, but was very upset with me not knowing italian (un espresso doesn’t count).

The only guy that speaks english at this establishment and the owner seemed nice.

Our visit to Le Moulin was overall okay. The standout feature was definitely the staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our meal.

The pizzas were well-served, delicious, and reasonably priced, which we appreciated. However, we were recommended a variation of a dish from the menu that ended up being charged at double the listed price. This lack of transparency was disappointing and left a negative impression.
