Brasserie Du Cervin — Restaurant in Valtournenche

This brasserie serves some of the best food I have ever tasted.

I eat at 5* venues in London and this is on a par with any such establishment.

I started with a tagliatelle, which was superb. But the best was yet to come.

My main was the duck with a couple of sauces. This was out of this world. Tge meat was tender and succulent. It was not dry at all. The sauces were to die for! It is truly a great dish that will live long in the memory.

I selected tiramisu for dessert. I was far from disappointed!

It was an open pastry base, and sides with the main part of the delicious creamy chocolate were simply delightful to the palette.

The alcoholic content is often overdone with a tiramisu, especially when coffee based. This was exactly right. It was tasteful but not overpowering.

I have visited out of the traditional ski season, and the opening hours of many venues are spartan, if at all.

It was such a delight to find this brasserie open.

The staff are also warm and friendly.

In summary, whoever the chef is, they are worthy of many stars, and their skill is incredible.

Booked a table for 4 at dinner. Restaurant was full at half capacity. I live locally and used to come here often last season. Took my parents (+75) there to spend a pleasant night together. The welcoming from the new waiter wasn't friendly at all. Service was unprofessional, made my poor parents feel awkard and unwelcomed the whole night. We are never been fussy or demanding customers, we also used to work in the same industry. The waiter was rolling the eyes and grumble at all our requests, which were very basic and simple (water, bread etc) and he purposely ignored us for the all evening for absolutely no reasons. The quality and quantity of the food was actually good and at a reasonable price for the area. The floor service definitely need a massive upgrade to keep up with...

The service was friendly and attentive and the food was solid. The fondue was great and honestly also a great value. The main course was good as well. Yes, the desert left something to be desired but honestly, you can see that they try very hard to deliver an experience above other restaurants in the area.

To address the many 1-star reviews that complain about things like the customary cover charge - I can only imagine that the writers have never been in a restaurant in Italy before. You can certainly dislike customs, but that's not the...
