Location fiabesca e, nell’allestimento serale del ristorante, assolutamente curata e suggestiva, con candele accese ovunque, contenute in recipienti di vetro perfettamente puliti e senza alcun tipo di alone. Purtroppo non si può dire la stessa cosa per l’esperienza gastronomica che potrei definire disastrosa. Un ambiente soft con musica lounge - ingredienti essenziali per una buona riuscita del convivio - sono stati rovinati da altri fattori, in primis la nauseabonda puzza di olio fritto di pesce di pessima qualità da sagra del paese che ha aleggiato nell’ampio salone per tutta la sera e che presumibilmente arrivava dalla cucina. Dato che ci sono stata per la prima volta durante il periodo ferragostano, mi auguro che si sia trattato di un’eccezione però, ad esempio, i tempi di attesa tra un piatto e l’altro sono stati estremamente dilatati con un’attesa di oltre mezz’ora sia per la comanda, sia tra una portata e l’altra, nonostante il ristorante fosse quasi vuoto, il che ci potrebbe anche stare dato che l’ambiente è davvero suggestivo, ma se i tempi sono troppo lunghi diventa quasi esasperante. Il personale di sala, molto giovane, è stato tuttavia gentile e disponibile. La nota estremamente dolente riguarda più di tutto il cibo proposto, sia come quantità, ma soprattutto per la qualità. L’antipasto Parmigiana di zucchine si componeva di una mezza zucchina tagliata in tre parti su cui adagiava sconsolato del semplice formaggio fuso accompagnato a una salsa verde non ben definita. Il secondo antipasto, Baccalà nel bosco, ossia crema di baccalà mantecato con sfoglia ai funghi porcini e tartufo nero estivo - che dalla descrizione prometteva essere una specialità - era, a dir poco, disgustoso: il baccalà aveva un forte odore di pesce non fresco e la sfoglia, di un sapore in tutto simile a pesce di lago, fritto e bruciato nella pentola, non aveva il minimo sentore né di porcini, tantomeno di tartufo nero estivo. Al contrario, il primo piatto, ossia Le fettuccine Alfredo con tartufo nero estivo, erano perfettamente al dente come richiesto e molto buone. Peccato che me ne sia stato servito non più di un cucchiaio, praticamente un assaggio. In questo tipo di ristoranti è risaputo che le porzioni sono piuttosto ridotte ma, come sempre, bisogna evitare di esagerare per non rasentare il ridicolo. Una nota a parte merita poi il pane, in questo caso della peggior qualità e palesemente comprato al supermercato: nessuna pretesa per un pane fatto in casa, ma quantomeno, visto il prezzo del menù, deve essere di panetteria. Infine, ciliegina sulla torta, sono stati necessari ulteriori venticinque minuti per l’amaro gentilmente offerto a fine serata, quindi oltre le 23 dalle otto di sera. Vorrei dare prossimamente un’altra possibilità a questo ristorante che, stante la situazione attuale, ha una gestione in netta controtendenza rispetto all’ambiente. Quando torni a casa con un mal di stomaco che perdura per tutta la notte, secondo me lo staff in cucina si dovrebbe fare qualche domanda, perché qualcosa non funziona. Le stelline, fin troppo generose per l’esperienza gastronomica, vanno esclusivamente alla gentilezza dello staff e alla location. Un ristorante di questo taglio non può permettersi gli errori che ho evidenziato nella mia esperienza.

Unser Aufenthalt im Al Borducan Romantic Hotel war insgesamt sehr angenehm. Das Hotel befindet sich inmitten des Zentrums von Sacro Monte di Varese, einem UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, was uns ermöglichte, die umliegende Schönheit der Region problemlos zu erkunden. Die antiken Möbel im Hotel verliehen dem Ambiente einen charmanten und nostalgischen Flair. Besonders beeindruckend war die Panoramaterrasse des hoteleigenen Restaurants. Von dort aus konnten wir eine atemberaubende Aussicht genießen. Das Essen im Allgemeinen war gut bis sehr gut, mit einer Vielfalt an köstlichen Gerichten. Jedoch müssen wir ehrlicherweise anmerken, dass das Abendessen, insbesondere das Risotto mit Garnelen, nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprach. Die Garnelen waren leider schwer zu finden und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmte in diesem Fall nicht überein. Trotz dieses kleinen negativen Punktes waren wir mit dem restlichen Essen im Hotel zufrieden. Beim Frühstück gab es ebenfalls einen negativen Punkt, der meine Erfahrung etwas getrübt hat. Es fehlten die frischen Eierspeisen, insbesondere Rühreier. Obwohl es nur wenige Gäste gab, wurden die Rühreier bereits am Buffet präsentiert und waren kalt, wenn man sie essen wollte. Es wäre wünschenswert gewesen, dass die Eierspeisen frisch zubereitet und warm serviert werden, um den Gästen ein optimales Frühstückserlebnis zu bieten. Trotz dieses kleinen Mangels war ich mit meinem Aufenthalt im Al Borducan Romantic Hotel insgesamt zufrieden. Das freundliche Personal, die charmante Atmosphäre und die großartige Lage machten dies wett. Das Hotel hat definitiv Potenzial, um ein herausragendes Erlebnis zu bieten, und ich hoffe, dass sie das Feedback bezüglich des Frühstücks aufgreifen und Verbesserungen vornehmen werden. Ich kann das Al Borducan Romantic Hotel für einen Besuch in Sacro Monte di Varese weiterempfehlen und hoffe, dass mein Feedback zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung beiträgt. Location: spettacolare. Come si evince dalle foto bellissima sala , illuminazione al lume di candela davvero suggestiva , vista sicuramente appagante. Azzeccata anche la musica di sottofondo, molto piacevole . Ma veniamo all’offerta: Menu alla carta sicuramente esoso,con scelta dei piatti abbastanza ridotta ,abbiamo quindi optato per uno dei 2 menu degustazione (eravamo in 6 e ci è stato detto che se avessimo scelto il menu, tutto il tavolo avrebbe dovuto scegliere lo stesso). Entrée di benvenuto (offerta) : piacevole. Uovo cotto a bassa temperatura : perdonatemi ma l ‘ho trovato una presa in giro ..squilibrio nei sapori e prezzo veramente fuori luogo per un ovetto adagiato su una vellutata di zucca con tre spruzzate di marmellata. Primo :troppo sale. Buoni il secondo ed anche il dolce. Servizio rapido ed efficiente. Carta dei vini : ampia scelta, prezzi elevati. Un appunto: dovrebbero avere la gentilezza di spiegare meglio, a chi lo chiede telefonicamente, come raggiungere la location. Non c’é possibilità di parcheggiare nelle immediate vicinanze ed é lontano dal parcheggio (7/10 min a piedi a seconda della “fortuna” )inutili le loro sbrigative informazioni telefoniche e le indicazioni dei cartelli ti portano ad allungare ancora di più il percorso: per persone di una certa età, donne con tacco e comunque anche per chiunque dopo cena,col freddo, può diventare un disagio. Mi trovo a dare due stelle perché ritengo che per l’accessibilità del luogo ma sopratutto per ciò che viene offerto a livello culinario il prezzo sia esagerato, nonostante la bellissima location. Peccato.

My husband and I loved it here. Some of the more negative reviews seem to be from people who do not realize this is a romantic hotel intended for couples. If you are on a business trip, this is probably not the hotel for you. If you want to be in the middle of a big city, this is not the hotel for you. But if you are looking for a quiet, beautiful, and romantic place to stay, this is the hotel for you! It's a beautiful OLDER building, meaning everything might not be brand new (some of the reviews here comment on the fact that the building is old -- of course it's old, look at their website or the town that it is in! If you do not like charming older buildings, this probably is not the place for you). Also, if you have accessibility needs, this is not the hotel for you. Parking is a little far from the hotel and walking along cobbled, steep streets is everywhere. I love that about this hotel, but if anyone has trouble walking, it might be a little much.

The Borducan serves a wonderful breakfast every morning. Meat, cheese, pastries, fresh squeezed juice, coffee, wine, nutella. I found the staff to be very helpful and kind. They gave us recommendations on where to explore during our stay. One day my husband and I took the bus just for fun, the Borducan directed us on where it stops (there is a bus stop very close to the hotel).

The restaurant is beautiful. The prices are high, and the dishes are small. However, the food is delicious and beautifully composed. I read some reviews that complain about the quality-to-price ratio. I felt the quality was very high. Every dish looked like a piece of art and tasted delicious. Ingredients were fresh and combinations were unique. My husband got hazelnut encrusted lamb -- it was DELICIOUS. I see this restaurant as a special occasion experience. Some travelers may want a more casual meal, if that is the case, do not eat at the Borducan. If you want a beautiful, thoughtful, delicious, unforgettable meal, eat at the Borducan. It just depends what you want. They are a romantic hotel, and they do this very well. I can't...

I spent 2 nights at this hotel. The location of the property is really good and have a stunning view. There is no lift and that is not a problem because the hotel is small around 10 rooms in the total. The sound insulation between the rooms is absent, you can listen every movement and each words at your neighbour's room. Concerning the breakfast, there is no open buffet, you will be served at table , basically the breakfast offered for two persons consists of 2 plain croissant, one chocolate croissant, 2 thin slices of cheese 2 thin slices of raw meat, one spoon of chocolate spread, 2 small cubes of butter, jam and bread, all in a beautiful display and coffee or any other hot drink. You can ask for fruits, nuts, yogurt, milk, corn flakes, but no eggs. During our stay There was a problem in the wifi internet connection at the hotel, we weren't able to make a call! The room was clean, the toilet at the room we chose was small and the bidet and cuvette inside it are suitable for babies and not for adults! The handle of the faucet was broken and it felt down each time we try to open it and they are trying to hide (and not repair) this ANCIENT problem by putting an aluminium foil inside it. The mini bar was complementary and refilled each day. The one large bed is formed by two single beds with two mattresses between them a distance of at least 5cm ! The staff is reduced and seems to be always busy and give a very small information as answer after too many questions you ask. The hotel is called adults only but in fact there are children. The fenicular was not working during my stay. The price of booking.com was more convenient than the booking directly with the hotel. Overall, for me, the value for money was bad, and from my point of view I consider that the hotel does not deserve the high rating that has.
