Forse una serata sfortunata. Bel locale in centro ad Intra che da qualche tempo volevamo provare per trovare una nota di novità nel panorama dei ristoranti di Verbania, in alcune zone troppo turistici e pensati per palati stranieri. Il ristorante enoteca ha una scelta di vini veramente interessanti e si presenta in modo molto elegante, con le migliori premesse. Il proprietario ci accoglie con simpatia e cordialità e inizia la nostra cena. Grande gentilezza e passione nel servizio sono sicuramente la nota positiva della serata. C'è voglia di fare bene, esperienza e cura nella descrizione dei piatti e delle idee che ci stanno dietro, purtroppo però la cucina fatica a stare dietro a tutto questo. Diversi errori di esecuzione rovinano le ottime idee di accostamento nord/sud e rendono i piatti non all'altezza del conto. L'opzione abbinamento vini è interessante, grazie anche a qualche extra aggiunto dai proprietari (la migliore nota proprio dalla malvasia finale), ma anche qui siamo decisamente sotto le aspettative rispetto a quanto richiesto dal conto. Purtroppo, come ultima considerazione, devo constatare che nonostante sia sempre stato un fan di chi sostiene che "per andare a ristorante con la fretta si può anche non andare" ben più di tre ore per una cena da 3 portate + dolce sono un po' fuori standard.

EDIT Integro le puntuali precisazioni del locale. Sì, sono il cliente che ha sottolineato per primo la vostra gentilezza e disponibilità, anche nell'aggiungere degli extra molto graditi, ma non hanno certo modificato la valutazione della serata. Il cliente che ha sottolineato quanto fosse salata la madama bianca, quasi rovinata e la "cottura" dell'agnello, attenzione alle parole, non di certo il piatto, tornato indietro pieno di grasso e con gli asparagi appena assaggiati. Lo stesso cliente che si è complimentato per le orecchiette, non per il sugo dove il formaggio troppo cotto e la frutta secca hanno azzerato il coniglio. Sull'aggettivo "caro", è come da vocabolario in riferimento al prezzo pagato in funzione della qualità, non certo in valore assoluto. Ripasserò volentieri, anche per il consiglio su dove mangiare bene con 15€, fa sempre piacere imparare qualcosa da chi è al 19° ristorante (secondo lei) o al trentesimo (secondo sua moglie), quindi la vostra esperienza mi sarà di grande aiuto. Host made it clear as we entered (4 people with 2 small children and shopping bags) that they were not for tourists, didn't have soda, and no children's menus. We told him we didn't care and were up for whatever. After a short amount of what seemed like awkward reception they warmed up to the fact that we weren't typical tourists. After that the dining experience couldn't have been nicer and the food was excellent. We only got one course each, because we obviously were over our head with the class of dining, but I've never eaten this well, anywhere. And even though this isn't a place to take your kids, our grandchildren are well behaved and they reacted in kind, very friendly to them indeed.
