My friends and I missed the last bus from our airbnb in Drignana to Vernazza for dinner. We were planning to make the 30-40 minute trek down to the city in dresses and sandals when we came across Cafe Bistrot PZ. They were closed but offered to help us call a taxi. When none of the taxi companies answered we were resigned to have to wait until the morning to eat as it was getting too dark to make the trip. When they realized we had no other options, they offered to make us salads or couscous (which was all they could make with the kitchen closed) and stayed open for an extra 45 minutes helping us. The owner told us, “It is not a problem—we know you have nothing else.” Genuinely one of the best travel experiences. Read moreWe came here several times during our stay and had such a great experience each time. The coffee was really good, and we tried the Focaccia Club breakfast, the English breakfast, and some pastries – the cannoli were great!
They also have a nice selection of wines, and we tried a local Cinque Terre wine they recommended – it was fantastic. Everything we had was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. The service was fast and friendly, and we felt very welcome.
The view from here is incredible – you can see the mountains and the sea, and it’s a quiet, peaceful spot. They were also really dog-friendly which is another plus.
We totally recommend it to anyone...

We said yes and she reluctantly handed us the spoons and made us feel very uncomfortable as she rolled her eyes towards her other colleague. We are very chilled out and just felt a rude tension towards us by the way they treated...
