La Cueva — Restaurant in Vicenza

My experience with La Cueva left much to be desired, particularly regarding the authenticity of the Mexican cuisine. The takeaway I ordered didn’t quite capture the vibrant flavors I anticipated.

The "Mexican Rice" was disappointingly just plain white rice, lacking any spices or character. The tequila and cream chicken was reminiscent of chicken mixed with cream cheese, which diverged significantly from what one would expect in a traditional Mexican dish. Additionally, the Burrito de Chili felt more like a mishmash of flavors with chunks of pork and plain rice wrapped in a flour tortilla, accompanied by a side of nacho cheese sauce that seemed out of place.

Regrettably, I believe there are better dining options in Vicenza that might offer a more authentic and enjoyable...

Mangio spesso cibo messicano, era la prima volta in questo ristorante, che si presenta esteticamente passabile, niente di esagerato ma nemmeno pessimo. Il servizio è stato abbastanza lento, circa 20 minuti per ordinare dopo esserci accomodati. Abbiamo aderito al menù all you can eat (10€), la prima tranche è arrivata dopo un abbondate quarto d'ora: Cibo tiepido, di messicano ci sono giusto le salse che per essere inserite dentro ai burrito rivelano un cibo brutto da vedere e povero di gusto. Ancora fiduciosi abbiamo poi ordinato degli antipasti perché dopotutto per 10€ si può anche passare sopra. Con grande difficoltà siamo riusciti ad ordinare delle patate con formaggio fuso e delle alette di pollo, peccato non aver fatto delle foto... I difetti di questi piatti sono stati gli stessi dei burrito, tiepidi e senza personalità: Le patate sono arrivate con il formaggio freddo, le alette purtroppo sono arrivate calde ma solamente 2 su 5 (o 6, non ricordo): Le altre erano gommose, senza gusto. Per quanto riguarda il servizio mi spiace dirlo ma letteralmente non si riesce a comprendere la "parlata" della cameriera che si è occupata del servizio all you can eat, mentre chi si è occupata delle ordinazioni "standard" aveva un atteggiamento svogliato e poco attento, il risultato è stato una grande attesa solamente per ordinare. Per concludere al meglio, il caffè è arrivato "sceso" e...

Very good experience! We came back to this restaurant after a few years and we had a wonderful dinner. Every dish was delicious, the atmosphere was nice and the service was attentive. Also the interiors of the place has been renewed and I loved it :) I recommend to start off with their Sangria, jalapenos de queso hot and the papas ranchera fundida, very cheeeeesy.
