Went for my birthday celebration. Firstly, the place is decorated with a touch of class and elegance. It was empty more or less so we had the restaurant to ourselves. For appetizers, we ordered the short rib tacos, oxtail pizza, short rib dumplings and chicken skewers. The dumplings were the best 10/10..unfortunately it was only 4. The pizza I rated as second best 9/10, the size was decent too i didn't expect it to be as big as it was given the fact that it was an appetizer. The short ribs tacos were nice too 8/10, it was a crunchy shell, juicy and everything but it didn't beat the other two meals. The chicken skewers were alright. It's chicken on a stick. Not spectacular about that 6/10. For the main courses, I had BBQ ribs with the corn side and a serving of frieds. The presentation was 10/10 but the plate is impractical to eat in. Things just kept falling off because of limited space. The ribs were decent but the table knife wasn't cutting it easily as expected so I'd say it was a tad bit tough. The corn side wasn't exactly tasty per say. I ate a few spoon full of it but the taste was just off afterwards. I did get a bunch of crunchy fries, very salty but yea. Overall I rated mine 6.5/10. One person had the salmon steak with mash potatoes. Said the soup the salmon was in didn't taste nice. The salmon was good The mashed potatoes were hella salty. 6/10 rating Another ordered lamb shank with the mashed potatoes. The lamb was very good and tender. Falling off the bone itation. Agreed with the mash potatoes remark made earlier. He didn't eat the greens on the plate. 8/10 Another ordered the rice and Peas with chicken. He said the chicken was very tender and he liked it. He didn't have any complaints so 9/10? We reserved with the mention of a birthday celebration and I saw some persons got free birthday slices under the reviews. I didn't get any unfortunately. We did get some great pictures though. It's a very expensive restaurant so be prepared to spend your money. Is it worth it prices? No but the ambiance and some of the meals are decent. That's about it I would recommend but only for certain dishes

#FirstByte of Broken Plate Why you should spend a little bit more for a unique dining experience Broken Plate is an indoor/outdoor restaurant that focuses on local and international influenced dishes. Prices range between $1900-3000 for appetizers and $3000-6000 for entrees This is the Gin and Juice ($1450), based off a Gin and Tonic. Very good cocktail and it has a hint of the cucumber in it. For balance between alcohol and juice, I’d say you taste a bit more juice but the alcohol isn’t muted. It’s about a 6:4 ratio. 8.3/10 For appetizers, I ordered the Duck Breast Bruschetta ($2650). Amazing flavours, the sauce used was sweet and tangy and the duck breast was juicy and tender. The texture balance between the bread and the breast made this truly enjoyable. 9.2/10 The coconut risotto ($1,150) was okay. A bit too liquid and the rice was on the tougher side. I loved the coconut flavours with the cheesy texture but this got cloying very quick. 5/10 For the entree, I ordered the Curried Goat Pasta ($4150). Excellent texture on the spaghetti. It wasn’t too soft but not exactly al dente. The creaminess of the sauce made this more moist and flavourful to the taste and the curried goat was very tender. It could use a little less pepper as if you aren’t a fan of spicy food, this may annoy you when consuming. The garlic bread was good as well. 8.7/10 The service was excellent; this was possibly the best service I’ve had at a restaurant so far. Compliments to Keron. We got our orders in under 15 minutes with perfect accuracy and he was very courteous and gave suggestions where we struggle to select menu items. I would go back just for this. The ambiance was great as well though if I had a nitpick it would be that the lighting was a bit poor making photography a challenge. This may be critical for diners like myself who like to take pictures. Overall would I recommend? Absolutely! Sidenote - My understanding is that the menu isn’t fixed so menu items may change after reading this.

We didn't reservations ahead on a Saturday night so it was no surprise to me that it was mostly reserved apart from 2 bar stools. No problem, I was excited for the food so the table was the least of my concern. We got seated and almost immediately the bartenders checked on us to make sure we were good, took our order and put on a mixologist show... not really but we got some entertainment lol. Like most ladies, pictures affi tek and an essential picture on your night out is a restroom picture. Let me tell youuu they did not slip, they didn't not miss! Immediately as I opened the door I was disappointed that it was small which would mean it didn't have the big restroom mirror...but yuh see me, you can win me with a garden theme or gold and white theme any day, and they were both present. The ladies restroom was beautiful and warm (and I specify the ladies restroom because the men restroom is just plain but clean). The food came in good time and eas looking delicious! The salmon and mash was spectacular, I took off 1 star off the food because of the pasta. If you know me, I'm always going for a pasta to find 1 that can beat south avenue. The chicken pasta I got is a contender, my problem with it is that the pasta itself could take about 5 more minutes of boiling. The sauce was lovely, chicken nice and tender. Again, if you know me... anywhere the passion is, I'll find it. So I ended my night with a drink of double happiness, a passion fruit martini 😘! Was expecting a little buzz though but never catch a spirit at all. The drink was lovely nonetheless. In between food, drink and bill wait, of course I ran back to the bathroom for more pics, warmth or simply to clean up. I really appreciate the effort placed in that bathroom. All in all, it was a great experience, lovely food (coming back for salmon) and service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Broken Plate, and I must say, the Salmon Sliders were absolutely divine, deserving every bit of praise. They were truly "to die for."

The Salmon Sliders at Broken Plate were an absolute delight. From the first bite, it was evident that the restaurant prioritizes quality and flavor. The salmon patties were expertly cooked, retaining their moisture and flakiness. Each slider was perfectly sized, allowing for a few blissful bites of pure culinary bliss.

What made the Salmon Sliders stand out was the incredible combination of flavors. The salmon itself had a beautiful, delicate taste that was enhanced by a carefully crafted blend of seasonings. The sliders were accompanied by a medley of fresh toppings, such as crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes, which added a refreshing element to each bite. The buns were soft and perfectly toasted, providing just the right amount of texture and support to hold the sliders together.

The attention to detail in the presentation was evident, as each slider was visually appealing and appetizing. It was clear that the chefs at Broken Plate take pride in creating a dish that excites the taste buds and pleases the eyes. The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant completely satisfied.

In addition to the Salmon Sliders, Broken Plate offers an impressive selection of dishes on their menu. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast, a meat lover, or a vegetarian, you'll find enticing options that cater to various dietary preferences.

The overall dining experience at Broken Plate was delightful. The restaurant had a sophisticated and inviting ambiance, making it an excellent choice for a special occasion or a memorable meal. The staff members were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent service from the moment we stepped through the door. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience.

While Broken Plate may be considered a higher-end establishment, the Salmon Sliders and the overall dining experience justify the price. The exceptional quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the attentive service make it a worthwhile culinary destination.

In conclusion, if you have the opportunity to visit Broken Plate, I highly recommend indulging in their Salmon Sliders. They are truly a culinary masterpiece that combines exceptional flavors, beautiful presentation, and a satisfying dining experience. Broken Plate sets the bar high when it comes to salmon sliders, and it's an experience that is sure to leave you...

Lets talk about a Delicious Evening at Broken Plate: A Story of Tantalizing Flavors and Warm Service

Step into Broken Plate and prepare to be swept away by its inviting ambience. As I settled in at the high top table, the medium lighting set the perfect mood for a memorable dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the stars of the evening - the food!

Starting off with the appetizers, the oxtail mac n cheese balls were a delightful surprise. Each bite was a burst of flavor, earning a solid 9/10 in my book. Next up, the calamari was served in generous portions, and the sauce was a perfect complement - a flawless 10/10.

Moving on to the main event, the grilled chicken breast stole the show. Juicy, succulent, and paired with tasty veggies, it was a symphony of flavors. The only slight miss for me was the sweet potato cut like fries; while savory, I found them a bit much after a few bites. Still, a commendable 8/10.

Although I didn't indulge in the BBQ ribs myself, I heard mixed feedback. Light on the meat, but the flavor held its ground at a respectable 7 or 8/10.

Now, let's talk about the heartwarming service. Our server, Kayana, was an absolute gem. With a great personality and attentiveness that made us feel like family, she truly enhanced the dining experience. A perfect 10/10 for her. And not to forget, the other lady (whose name I sadly didn't catch) was also pleasant and contributed to the welcoming atmosphere.

A big thank you to the kitchen and bar staff (even though they didnt mix the oj and prosecco 🫣, idk why my friend wanted that anyway after 8pm😂) as well. Their dedication to crafting these delightful dishes and drinks did not go unnoticed.

In conclusion, Broken Plate offers not just a meal, but an experience. With delectable dishes, cozy ambience, and exceptional service, it's a restaurant I will gladly return to. Kayana, please stay just the way you are, you truly made the evening great. Cheers to Broken Plate for a memorable dining adventure!

Will be...
