I recently visited By The Tree Coffee and I was impressed by the modern industrial vibe of the interior, with its concrete walls and sleek black chairs and tables. The owner, who is half Canadian and half Japanese, brings a unique touch to the place, especially evident in the coffee. You can tell he makes each cup with dedication, and the taste truly stands out.

However, the food menu, which leans towards Canadian cuisine, could use a bit more focus. Adding some Japanese and Amami fusion elements for example from the local black sugar cane would make the dining experience even more interesting and cohesive. The young woman and man who prepare the coffee clearly know what they are doing and are happy to explain something about your choice of beans. If you are an international traveler, I recommend this coffee shop. The food and drinks here are really good! We had the carrot cake and lemon pound cake.
