Ootoya — Restaurant in Asahikawa

Ootoya is not new name to us. It is one of Japanese chain restaurant that actually open store globally. The taste still hasn’t changed since last time we ate there. Do we still like it?? Yes!

If you are looking for simple home dish to fill your stomach, then this is the Place! Not fancy dining, just regular lunch with affordable price. Big portion too! You can ask for volume up rice and buy ala carte side dish below ¥500 in case you are still not full yet.

I went here 2-3 times to Asahikawa’s Ootoya and Guest were always waiting in line. This restaurant is also kids friendly. There are 3 choices for Kids Lunch menu.

Price wise ? I spent ¥2,400...

A great Japanese traditional restaurant with variable menu and friendly staffs! There are plenty options for your food, including chicken/pork/beef/salad for main dish and a bonus set of rice, miso soup and other side dishes. They also serve drinks and desserts separately, aside from the coffee & soft drinks bar. I chose charcoal-grilled chicken meal set with additional vegetable dish and soymilk. The main dish was quite too salty to me, so glad I did order a whole set to eat it with rice. But the restaurant was really crowded so I had to wait like half an hour...

旅行先に大戸屋さんがあれば必ず一回は訪れることにしています｡北海道には札幌に5店舗,苫小牧,旭川にそれぞれ1店舗づつあり今現在こちらが日本最北端です!　2019年8月3日コロナ前に行ったNYマンハッタン タイムズスクエア店が最も遠い大戸屋さんで日本より3倍くらい高かったですが味はいっしょでノーチップ制だったのは良かったです｡ こちらでは『すけそう鱈と野菜の黒酢あん定食』と『お豆腐ねばねば小鉢』しか食べません!美味しいので…いつも[鱈増量]で注文するんですがどういうわけかこちらではできませんでした｡ あくまでも個人的動物感覚で外食チェーン店の中では食品添加物が少ない気がします｡ 初めての北海道､旭川,永山｡人も大自然もなまら素晴らしかったので来年戻ってきます!その時にはまた来店させて頂きますので宜しくお願い致します｡

追記) 2022年12/12 半年ぶり雪の季節に再来店して夏と全く同じメニューを頂きました｡
