鉄板焼阿蘇まーぼー — Restaurant in Aso

I presumed this is a family owned shop and the boss and lady boss were super friendly and kind to my toddler. They made space for our toddler and provided kid's cutlery. This was in contrast with another restaurant Aso Calendrier we visited nearby who told us flatly kids are not allowed. All the set meals are great in their own way, but for first timers, do order the sets with the garlic rice! The garlic rice is the signature of this teppanyaki restaurant and the various beef cuts are very tasty. Parking is a bit tight as is the case everywhere in Japan. The taste was so agreeable that we came here for lunch on both days we were at Mount Aso, so we managed to try out 5 different sets. All...

It's the quality of the beef. A photo doesn't do it justice. The first bite is melt in your mouth and it remains really yummy throughout. Enjoyed with salt and wasabi. Super good and unexpected!

We were lucky that the restaurant was not too busy, no need to wait. The food is amazing, beef and the fried rice are delicious. The only thing has to remind you, is the very strong oily smell in the restaurant, can feel sticky everywhere, the wall, the floor…after the meal you feel like you have been grilled in...
