We arrived at Cafe Kotodama 20 minutes before the starting time for the afternoon tea session. The staff were very friendly and politely asked us to leave our name and number of guests and lad us to the waiting area. Staff also came to introduce “Today’s special” when we were waiting. I stumbled upon this place on my way to Oka Temple. I arrived around 3 PM, a week before Christmas, and I was the only customer at first. I ordered the Autumn special pancake and parfait. They were so delicious that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. The sweetness was perfection. This place feels like it time-slipped back to the Meiji era—in the best way possible. Book a table before hand this is a super popular place! Food is professionally made, by hand using fresh ingredients from around Nara, the staff are amazingly friendly and the coffee was delicious!
