Waon — Restaurant in Beppu

Had lunch at this cozy, family-run restaurant, and it was such a warm experience. Everything was prepared fresh and served promptly—definitely one of the must-try spots in Beppu!

The sashimi was incredibly fresh, generously cut, and beautifully plated. The toriten was also excellent—one of the best I’ve had in Beppu. While the portions are slightly on the smaller side and the prices a bit high, the quality makes it very worth it.

Very cute restaurant, but the toriten was the only good dish. We ordered the 3900yen course that had a bit of everything. The shrimp was overcooked, the sashimi was mediocre. But the toriten was SO good. And the chefs are very nice and friendly....
