Great all you can eat yakiniku experience. It was around 4:00 when I was looking for a place to eat, most of the yakiniku places are only open after 6:00? This one was one of the few that was open all day long which I appreciate cuz I like eating at weird times.
You start off by choosing the number of people in your party and then you go through the door and talk to the attendant. We were told there was no time limit and the price was for all you can eat. We went with the premiere option which came to about $30 US per person (at the time with our exchange rate)
I was really wanting to eat beef and have found it was not the cheapest to buy in grocery stores. So I felt this was a pretty good deal with this all you can eat. Be primarily ordered the beef and seafood skipping the pork and chicken. We did order the chicken cartilage since that was a little different.
The price difference between the middle one and the top one isn't that much, so if you like seafood then definitely get the premiere one. The scallops were pretty good and the garlic cuttlefish was excellent as well. The Sirloin steak was okay for me, but I could actually skip that one and go for the cubed meat instead. I tend to prefer fattier cuts, but if you like a lean one then the sirloin would work well for you.
I love that the food comes out via a little robot. It was definitely a highlight every time it came out.
You were supposed to stack your plates onto the robot when you send it back if you had extra, but the server still came around and cleared up extras when they had time. So I thought the service was pretty good for that.
The menu setup was pretty self-explanatory. I felt it was very user friendly. The server set it up in English for us right away. So we didn't have any problems.
I would recommend getting all the sauces to dip with it. There was a salty sauce which I think was kind of like a peppery white sauce, and then there was a red sauce that was their stamina sauce. Both go great with the meats.
The meal also comes with all you can drink as well as some desserts. So it's pretty much a complete meal and you pay the one price. I started off with the white grape juice which I enjoyed, but realized if I ate drank too much sugary drinks I wouldn't be able to eat as much food so that I switched water after.
Parking is available outside the restaurant. However it is a limited amount. They do warn you not to park in...
Read moreYakiniku Goen was one of my all time favorite restaurants in Okinawa, or anywhere! It is an updated/modernized version of Korean BBQ restaurants I grew up going to as a child in Seoul. FYI: It is an all you can eat for a set price type restaurant. But if you do not finish your order of meats you will be charged. It keeps you from over ordering and the food going to waste. And no, you may NOT share one single order. Free refills on fountain drinks and soft serve ice cream. The meats, poultry and seafood choices were fresh and the side dishes were very delicious. At first I was skeptical that I could find delicious kimchi spicy enough for me to enjoy, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was very similar to the style of kimchi I was used to at home, not sweet, well balanced in flavor and spicy enough for my taste! I give Yakiniku 5 stars and recommend everyone to try it at least once. If you love fresh cooked meats and veggies that you can flavor and cook to your liking with your family and friends, this is the perfect place! You are welcome to stay as long as you like as long as you are eating. This is a great family type restaurant and the staff are very polite and patient. You can’t miss this restaurant it the many chains on the island. It is yellow, black and red building with blinking lights day or night! Also, they do not expect tips as it is not their custom. But a smile and giving them a compliment for the delicious meal will be...
Read moreGreat all you can eat spot right outside Kadena school gate. We went during the weekday (Thursday) at about 2:45pm—so late lunch early dinner. We were a party of 9 so we were placed in the back corner in the side by side feet in tables. For our party we choose the mid-tier option which fell in the 29k price range. There are 3-tiers and everyone on the table should be on the same tier not to cause confusion. There was no time limit like other yakinku restaurants but they do charge for “wasting food”. Meaning if you order more than you can consume (ordering with your eyes not your stomach) thus leaving a lot of food you will have to pay for that. That cost started at ~¥400. There’s a sign on the drink machine that states if you take your dine in cup out there’s also ¥100 fee. I wanted ice (resemble ice from Sonic) so I asked just for clarification. For ordering, they have a convenient handheld dock to place your orders. There’s is a max of 10 request/orders at once. You can also request to have your grill rack changed or bring more plates/ condiments. Barely anyone was in the place during the weekday so our orders came quickly. Everything tasted good and the options were more than Japanese cuisine. We left feeling like the twins from Alice in Wonderland. I think we got our...
