Randomly we came along to this quite cosy place that is owned by a lovely couple. We were just looking for a place that protects us for the rain and where we could wait for our bus, but what we found was much more and we are so enormous grateful for Kats and his wife. The coffee was quite tasty and Kats offered us a lot of information about Japan and especially for his region. His English skills are really good, so that we enjoyed the enlarged talk with him. Read moreNice cozy place in Echizen walkable from Washi Village. It's interesting to see international ceramics in this paper making town. Full of handmade Polish ceramics imports at a fair price point. Also there is a selection of Echizen Urushi - Japanese lacquerware that was made by her family. I forget how old the pieces are but I believe most were made by the owner's grandfather, if I'm not mistaken. I picked up 2 of the tea cups, wrapped nicely and made it back to the states safely.
