What an awesome experience not only some of the most unique sushi we have ever had, following culinary tradition from the Edo period but real performance in a homey environment with a famous Hacho knife master. They expect a long sit-down meal but it's well worth your time!!! Even though this is a famous culinary master, you feel completely at home with his wife assisting in the kitchen and the kind demeanor in guiding you from one exquisite dish to another. Your visit to eastern Aomori isn't complete without a stop at this iconic destination!!!

Wonderful inn and spectacular restaurant along the Michinoku trail! It was such a privilege getting to watch Chef Sato cool. His knife skills are unbelievable! We did the set course - the highlights were the fresh bread, the sushi and sashimi, and variety of local vegetables. Chef Sato takes pride in cooking without additives or preservatives - and you can certainly taste the difference! The inn was comfortable with views of the coast. Chef Sato and his wife were so welcoming and accommodating - the perfect host. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing stay at the Organic Centre and learned much more than I thought possible in one day. Together with the chef I learned about making nigiri, sashimi, sushi rolls, tempura, ramen, chawanmushi, matcha and had some incredible sake. I did a short hike to a beautiful viewpoint nearby and I even had an early morning fishing together with the chef. It was one of the top experiences I had during my six week trip in Japan.

I found the Organic Centre while hiking the Michinoku Coastal Trail. I wanted to learn to cook ramen, and chef made a special angler fish ramen (a very expensive fish if bought in the market, but actually caught it in the ocean). Chef picked fresh ingredients from the mountains and used his own fermented ingredients including miso and soy sauce that they age in 100 year old wooden barrels. The flavor is extraordinary. I recommend the organic centre if you want a unique and authentic Japanese cooking experience. Thank you so much for your hospitality...
