――旭ヶ丘の住宅街を歩いていると、ふと目に留まる古民家風の建物。 「Dining&cafe ikoi」……カラーガラスが光を受けてキラキラしている。落ち着いた雰囲気だな。こういう隠れ家的な場所、嫌いじゃない。 ランチはA、B、Cと3種類。気まぐれで変わるらしい。ふむ、面白い。 今日はAランチ、Bランチ、それからフレンチトーストとアイスカフェラテにしてみよう。 ――まずはAランチのたらこグラタン。 ひと口……おお、これは。たらこの塩気とホワイトソースのクリーミーさが見事に合っている。表面のチーズがカリッと香ばしく、食感の変化もいい。パンをちぎってグラタンに浸せば……うん、これは止まらない。 サラダはシャキシャキ、ドレッシングが野菜の甘みを引き立てる。スープは優しい味わいで口を整えてくれる。全体のバランスがよく考えられているな。 ――次はBランチ。デミグラスのお肉をひと口。 うん、柔らかい。噛むほどに肉汁と濃厚なデミソースが広がる。深みのあるコク、これはご飯が進む。五穀米のプチプチした食感もいいアクセントだ。健康的でいて満足感もある。 ――さて、甘いものも。フレンチトースト。 外はカリッ、中はしっとり。バターとシロップがじんわり染みていて、懐かしい味だ。甘すぎず、優しい。これは何度でも食べたくなるやつ。 最後にアイスカフェラテ。 コーヒーのほろ苦さとミルクのまろやかさ。冷たさが口をさっぱりさせてくれる。食後の締めにちょうどいい。 ……料理はどれも見た目がきれいで、量も十分。男性でも満足できるボリュームだ。 店主が一人で切り盛りしているから、混むと提供に時間はかかる。でも、この味なら待つ価値がある。 ――旭ヶ丘の「ikoi」。 静かな住宅街の中に、ひと息つける食の居場所があった。 ……いい店を見つけたな。
