I speak Japanese, so they let me order to go. But as I was sitting waiting to eat, a group of 4 Americans came to eat. Not a rowdy disorderly bunch, nor were they improperly dressed...just literal humans trying to find some good.
The staff refused to seat them, claiming the entire restaurant was reserved...there was only 1 table occupied, and no one waiting outside; they also had enough seats at the counter open to seat the group. I suspected the staff was lying.
Then the Americans asked if they could order a pizza for take-away, to which they were told no, which was an obvious lie since I had just done so minutes before.
And not apologetic, polite no's as one might expect from Japanese customer service, but rude, abrupt challenging eye-contact no's. Where I'm from, that kind of behavior from a staff would be called rude and racist.

"This religious group has terrorists, so I won't serve any of them." The rules still apply even if it is socially sanctioned to be prejudiced against X group today.
And sure, their country, their business, so run it how you wish. But if you have a shred of moral and intellectual integrity just admit the racism. Don't cope,...

The homemade Tiramisu was also really really good!
The staff were very sweet and very welcoming! A reservation is needed, so make sure to stop there an evening before or call (needs Japanese speaker) to make a reservation. Also, payment is only cash (true for October 2024).
Thank you guys for a wonderful and...
Read moreFood was good but service is bad. My wife and I ordered three mains between the two of us but no drinks. We were informed of a cover charge since we just wanted water which we agreed to without knowing the amouny. Turned out the cover charge was more than had we ordered a soft drink. Admittedly we didn't ask, we just think it's unreasonable we got charged more for tap water than ordering a drink. Staff were also fairly unfriendly,...
