I had the tonkatsu curry with rice, and it did exactly what it was meant to do: a simple, satisfying meal that served its purpose well. The flavor was good and comforting, though not particularly special. It was clear the food was prepared with care, even if not freshly made to order. For the location, it was more than acceptable and enjoyable enough.
There are not many restaurants in the area, so this place is ideal for a quick and filling meal at a fair price. The view of the sulfur volcano in Hakone is beautiful and gives the meal a special atmosphere.
The ambiance was fine, though the table arrangement could be improved. Still, the view more than made up for it.
The service deserves full respect. The staff work extremely hard to manage the large flow of visitors, cleaning, serving, and keeping things organized. Ordering through a ticket machine can be a bit confusing, and there is a slight language barrier, but the staff remain kind, patient, and helpful.
Overall, this restaurant fulfills its purpose well. Good food, fair prices, and an incredible view make it a pleasant stop for anyone passing through...
Read more22/12/24, 1300 JST Despite the poor reviews online, I had a relatively good experience dining here. Firstly, it's located within a souvenir shop with a tiny entrance beside an ordering kiosk. Based on the instructions given to us by the elderly staff member, you're supposed to queue to order at the kiosk, before queueing to enter with the food tickets ready on hand. It took us about 20 mins before we were able to enter the eatery which was reasonable given that the dining area was small. I ordered the tempura udon and I was amazed by how crispy and huge the prawns were, that was probably the best ebi tempura I had so far. The udon and the broth were good too. Thanks to all the elderly staff for the quick service. If you're looking for food options around the area, do visit this place, follow its order procedure, and you'll have a...
Read moreThe worst experience ever in Japan! The old lady was super rude. 4 of us were sitting after buying the tickets for the foods, waited for so long and no one came to collect the tickets or give us water. The shops were busy at the time, a lot empty spaces. So I decided to go to the old lady and tried to give her the ticket and get some water ( as I saw someone re-fill the water , so I thought we had to get water ourselves.) Then the old lady told me off and told me to get back to my seat. Please try to aviod this resturant! Foods were average, but the old lady was very RUDE! If you want to be treated very rude by a Japanese old lady, then this is the...
