Sightseeing spot and restaurants. Interesting food is the black egg and ice cream. Egg is black as it is boiled in Owakudani’s natural hot springs. The sulfur in the water turns the eggshells black. Tastes a little different but still a regular egg. The ice cream is black due to coloring. Taste is still vanilla. There is a geo museum nearby. It was crowded when we visited and line of cars waiting for available parking spot.

A nice food and snack stop next to the Ōwakudani crater valley. Fast and delicious, I had the moreish agedango 揚げだんご (fried rice dumplings). The food was simple, fast and very satisfying. There was no queue either, even though the area was very busy. Definitely recommend this place for a quick and satisfying snack!

Couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy my bao bun (which was black from being cooked in the onsen just like the eggs!) than looking out at Fuji! Really helpful...
