Tonko — Restaurant in Hatsukaichi

I'm from Hiroshima, moved to Hawaii when I was 11 years old. Everytime I go home, I have to go to Tonko Chan everyday for lunch. That's how good it is. There is no where in Hawaii that serves Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. I haven't gone by maybe 5 years. I miss it so much! Their okonomiyaki is so delicious filled with ingredients. The owner is very kind. She remembers me every time I go there. I remember the grandma making for me and now the daughter. She make the BEST okonomiyaki. I will come and see you soon. We came back from Miyajima and we looked up Okonomiyaki between the ferry and the hotel. My mom doesn't walk well and the road from the bus was uphill. By the time we arrived, it was 18:30 and Mamasan closes at 19:00. Not only did she make us our specials, but because we didn't start eating until three minutes before the last bus back, she insisted on driving us to the bus station...and the deliciousness of three only cost 1350 total. She refused to let us pay for the ride.
