Yuta — Restaurant in Imabari

Wandering around the port area, we went to this okonomiyaki restaurant based on other reviews. So glad we did! The food was wonderful! We were the only ones there at 3 in the afternoon. My Japanese is bad and the lovely ladies spoke no English but that didn’t stop the amazing service and lovely warmth of the place. A great experience and a lot of smiles. Authentic Japanese food experience. If you don’t speak Japanese, your food is going to be a surprise but very delicious. They seem to specialise in Okonomiyaki (a Japanese savoury pancake) and Yakisoba (fried noodles).

They were very accomodating when I asked for vegetables only (yasai or やさい) in my Okonomiyaki.

Watch them cook your food in front of you and enjoy a beer...

I felt like I wandered into someone’s house, and I couldn’t be happier about it. They had a limited but delicious menu of mostly Okonomiyaki. It’s a good option if you are trying to avoid red meat.
