We were in Japan for my 40th birthday and I wanted to come here for my birthday lunch. We hired a car in Fukuoka, spent the day driving around the beautiful Itoshima area and had lunch here. If you love crustaceans, bbq and novelty, this is the place for you. The quality of the food was excellent and the experience amazing. My mother in law does not eat oysters (or seafood really), but was able to eat other things on the menu like chicken and sausages which were both apparently quite good. Read moreA bit scary to hear the “pop” explosion sound from the shells. But still an amazing experience. Fresh oyster and seafood from the back. Tried the 一夜干squid and small fishes, highly recommended! Shells are SO FRESH. Oysters varies in size but 99% fresh and yummy and juicy. Beware to read the instructions on walls when grilling (although in Japanese, it’s easy to understand by google translate) Protective jacket is to protect your clothes, but not recommend to bring jacket and bags inside since they will get splashed and smelly.

Read moreGoogle translate will be your best friend. Staff were friendly and the ordering was easy enough. Although portions were small, it was fresh. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the grilled oysters. They do explode because of the heat and send hot shells flying in all directions. Taste of a grilled oyster isn’t that great either 😅 but it’s a thing and why you call this an oyster hut.
