GooFy — Restaurant in Itoshima

Hugely disappointing experience. And massively overpriced for what it is. 1800jpy for an average burger, oily chips and an ice coffee(for which they don’t provide milk or sweetener to the customers), without any table service is far too expensive. It might be acceptable if the location provided a sea view, or if the service was good, but as the restaurant is dark,(a bit smelly) and the service(particularly from the lady on the till when I visited) was awful(unhelpful and unfriendly) frankly the whole place screams ‘amateur’. The owners appear to be in their early twenties, yand if this is the future of Japanese customer service, then its a sad state of affairs. Monday late afternoon. I had just finished a quick hike up Mt. Tateishi (took the shorter spiderless route right off the road) and needed a quick refuel. This was the first cafe as I entered the town so I stepped into the cute shop and was greeted by the young owner. He was super cool. My burger was delicious, excellent pairing with my umpteenth beer of the day (I was heading back to the US soon so...). A young university student couple were there on a date. Solid place for a bite to eat with a nice atmosphere. I had the mozzarella burger which was nice had lots of cheese. The fries were the highlight and were nicely salted and had a crispy outside with a fluffy inside. A good place for a bite in itoshima.

It should be mentioned that the burgers are Japanese style, so they might be a bit soft for those not used to Japanese...
