THE TEA SHOP CHANOMI — Restaurant in Kanazawa

I have mixed feelings about this place. In a nutshell, recommended for tea lovers 😊. For sweets connoisseurs, you'd better look for a different place. Let's start with what's nice:

they offer 4 different varieties of matcha, it's really nice to compare the taste of each 😋 they have a wide selection of teas to buy staff are friendly and helpful

Now, what's not so nice: cakes. I tried all of their matcha cakes and they all share the same "features": taste, or rather, lack of it. I couldn't feel any matcha flavour, any sweetness, nothing to be honest. They were all extremely tasteless, to the point I was wondering if my taste buds were working properly size. They are presented so nicely in the photos, but once you order them, they're much smaller than you'd guess from the photo (and the price!). Still beautifully...

お茶屋さんとしてはとてもスタイリッシュでステキな空間。駐車スペースも申し分ない。 しかし、提供スピードが酷すぎる。 ポップオーバーサンド1つと抹茶ソフトを注文。 20〜30分ほど待つがメニューが来ない。忘れているのかと思って確認したらもう少々お待ちくださいと言われそれから10〜15分。ソフトクリームが到着。ただのソフトクリームに抹茶をふりかけただけなのになぜこんなに遅い？そのあとしばらくしてからサンドイッチが来た。たったこれだけなのに遅すぎる。客の入りから考えても遅すぎると思うし、他のお客様のかき氷の提供も時間がかかっていたように思う。思わず、遅すぎる・時間がかかる商品なら前もって伝えるべきと言うとスタッフに伝えると伏し目がちに申し訳ございませんのひとこと。注文を受けてからポップオーバーの生地を焼いてるのか？それならばメニュー表にひとこと書いたり注文時に伝えてほしい。当方、1歳のこども連れ。ゆっくりごはんを楽しめると期待していたのに、メニューが来た頃にはぐずり始めて大変だった。それに、仕事合間のランチに来た人がこれを頼んでこのスピードなら、きっとクレームものだと思う。お金を返してほしいくらいだったが、なにより時間を返し...
