Over my last 10+ years living in Tokyo, I have tried many a delicious curry so it is rare for me to get surprised. Good curry is just an expectation, but imagine my surprise that on a random Sunday afternoon walk about in Nobrito, I might have arguably discovered the best curries in all of Tokyo. Yes, I might be over emphasizing just a titch, but Shanti blew me away. I tried the three curry plate. My favorite was the spicy chicken curry(jerk?); it has a legitimate spice/heat to it, hotter than most Japanese curries I have tried. The stewed chicken curry was a counter to the spicier option. The rye was a little thicker and it had great flavor. The plum dal curry was the weakest of the three but still quite good. A solid curry to switch to if the heat gets too much. In addition to the curry, the restaurant is filled with natural light, music, and the chatter of a happy clientele, though a fellow foreigner seemed very unhappy about her life work balance.
