Ucchee's Cafe at Okinawa — Restaurant in Kitanakagusuku

We had a lovely chill time here, playing with the cats and enjoying our lunch with the lovely friendly good hearted owner (he runs the place by himself). The lunch set meal was delicious which includes pasta mains, bread, salad and drinks!

Highly recommend everyone to drop by!

The food may look simple but there was some complexity and unami in them. The pumpkin puree had a minty refreshing taste while the bread had cheese melted over it with cream cheese within it. We had the Carbonara and a seasonal crab cold pasta. Our favourite was the crab cold pasta. The portion was American sized so we couldn't finish (what a pity!). We finished off with peach jelly which was refreshing and sweet. The peaches in Okinawa are so sweet!

Afterwards we also chatted with the owner and learnt he had adopted 18 stray cats. He also recommended us places to go in Okinawa. If you do come, do drop him a call before coming. He runs the cafe and Airbnb by himself and may open late or...

I had an absolutely wonderful stay. The cafe has a fantastic 50s-style retro look to it. It is populated by more than 10 cats and 1 dog, all incredibly friendly, cute, and well-mannered; most of them have been rescued by the kind owner of the cafe. On the topic, the host was an incredibly nice person. When I told him I hadn't had a chance to eat yet that evening, he was so kind to prepare me a fantastic dinner completely free of charge. He also made me breakfast the morning after and took me by car to my bus stop. I am definitely coming back to Ucchee's Cafe next time I am in Okinawa, and I strongly recommend it to anyone coming...

Decided to stop by this place for lunch while driving around town. Glad we did! The owner is very nice and kind, and we had great conversation. I ordered the soup, bread, & salad combo (¥800), which was tasty and just the right amount of food for midday. The combo also included a drink, which was nice.

Please do note that the owner has a dog and cat(s), and there is an oil diffuser in the room as well; be mindful if you have allergies or may be sensitive to oils. Having said that, the oil fragrace was very, very feint for me, and I enjoyed the company of Sashimi (cat) and Kenta (dog). :)
