Such a fun experience! I love kewpie so much, and it was really interesting seeing how the mayo is produced and created. The mayo tasting with salad was also great. Got to try some mayo and dressings that aren’t available in my country, and I loved all of them :D
The tour is in Japanese, but they do give cards in English for foreigners. However it would still be good to try using a live translator or have someone who understands Japanese with you because there’s a lot of extra information you only get from listening to the guide.
The store had a lot of cute trinkets and souvenirs, including the sauces they let you try during the tasting session. Also you can choose a souvenir of either mayo or dressing.
As for getting there, you should take a taxi. It’s a 30 minute walk through really industrial areas with a lot of heavy vehicles going through. The walk was tolerable because the weather was good but if i went there again i would definitely take a taxi. When you leave, you can also ask the staff to call a cab for you, and it arrives quite quickly.
Definitely recommend to anyone who loves...
Read moreOne of the highlights of our trip! We’ve been longtime fans of Kewpie mayo, so it was super exciting for us to come here. Our guide Nishihara was very kind and accommodating, providing us with an English document guide to follow along as she gave us the tour. We learned so much about the history and process of Kewpie during our time here, got a complimentary salad to taste a range of the Kewpie products and a choice of condiment to take home for free! We also loved the souvenir store and bought quite a few things that we still love and use to this day. In short, a super wonderful experience, and a must-go for...
Read moreFun and informative factory tour. You get to see the mayo being bottled up, put in boxes, and put on pallets. The factory is very modern and clean with lots of robots and satisfying machines that fill up bottles with mayo. Tour is all in Japanese but they provide a hand out that has English description of what you are seeing. I would recommend using a voice translator for when the tour guide is talking to get a full sense for the tour. At the end you get a salad and get to try out different mayo flavors and salad dressings. Would recommend if you enjoy looking at...
