海鮮味処 亀吉 — Restaurant in Kumejima

Went for lunch with the family and didn’t leave disappointed. Staff was nice and welcoming. They had a menu translated in English with pictures so it was easy to decide. The portions were big and everything tasted delicious. We all left full and happy. The only bad which wasn’t a big deal was they didn’t have a high chair for the baby and you can smoke in the restaurant. We also only got one small glass of water with no refill pitcher; I’m sure they would have given us one if we asked. Great friendly izakaya with excellent service from Momoka and the rest of the staff, and some Kumejima twists on izakaya classics. Start with the mochi cheese balls, then try the local kuruma shrimp, the fresh grilled fish, and the tempura sakuna leaves.
