Think this is the best ramen shop in Kyoto IMO. Great brothy pork soup with texture, where the extremely fine pork lard melt in your mouth the every moment, noodle texture is well cooked!
I am surprised almost every locals here order extra large noodle with large fried rice along with fried chicken.
This is alot much more better than Gion Duck Noodle, which is rather utterly disappointing for their overrated and overhyped duck noodles.
Me & my wife even visited for the last time even before departing from Kyoto!
You will never go wrong with someone exploring good foods!
Foods: 5/5 Service: 4/5 (If only they could offer menu in foreign english, but that's not a problem with google camera translator for us) Environment: Usual local ramen shop.
Tips: for green onions lover, be sure to ask for extra!
Will i ever visit again? Yes, for sure if i ever visit...

Easy to drink, so once you've finished your bowl's solid contents, definitely go ahead and add some of their special chili/garlic paste and some vinegar! I was full, so I had to stop myself from finishing all of the broth due to how delicious it was. Normally, I feel like chili subdues the more delicate flavors of a broth, but I was shocked at how well they married! If I could change one thing, I'd opt out of the black pepper that they sprinkled on top of the chashu. I felt like the flavor would've been purer without.
Futhermore, this place is great for groups, and isn't nearly as get-in-get-out as ramen spots typically are. We were four, two locals and two tourists, and we were able to eat at a relaxed pace while chatting for a...
Read moreThe Chasho Ramen was very authentic with smooth tasting of the soup especially on the first sip, and the bacon was super legit. The way it was made was a scene by itself, the chef uses two blowing torches to cook the bacon in seconds. The presentation of the Ramen as shown in the picture is outstanding. The only minor downside is the soup gets salty after awhile and the taste of miso soup is not as deep as I expected. Overall, very good ramen shop in a small town,...
