Maruya — Restaurant in Minamioguni

Would do six stars if possible. Happened upon Maruya via lucky accident. The (probable) husband and wife were both incredibly friendly, and despite the language barrier, we shared some laughs with them. We had edamame, steamed gyoza, ramen and fried chicken, all amongst the best versions we have ever had of those dishes. 4 dishes, along with soju and sake came to a very modest 4,200 yen. The food was authentic Japanese cuisine, as was the setting, semi private tatami floored booths, low tables and cushions to sit on.
