Karaage (friend chicken) was delicious— juicy, plump, hits the spot in cold rainy weather. However it is a little salty. I had it as a side (¥500). No menu, except on the wall — all in Japanese. But I knew what I wanted and ordered with the really quite nice obasan. The grilled eel on rice was as others had described. Plump and fleshy, good char. So good! Very generous portions. I was stuffed. Homely interior, like a laid back, countryside restaurant. Difficult to locate because cars are parked right by entrance and you won’t be able to see it easily!

The unagi was juicy, probably the best on the menu. Oyakodon was disappointing, eggs were overcooked and the amount and size of the chicken pieces couldn't even satisfy Tinkerbell's appetite. They were generous with the onions tho.. Karaage was okay. Gyoza was delicious.

きっともう何十年も営業されているであろう昔ながらの老舗定食屋さん。2年ぶりに訪問しました！ 身延山久遠寺までの参道の途中にあります。 玉川楼さんの鰻重が大好きで、来るといつも必ず注文してしまいます。お値段も肝吸いとお新香付きで¥2,650とお手頃です。 鰻は関東風と関西風の中間というか、焼きが強めの関西風というか…身はふっくらしていて、皮目は端っこが少しカリッとするくらいまでよく焼かれています。 その鰻に濃いめのタレがご飯の1番下まで染み渡るほどたっぷりかけられています。 濃いめの味付けが好きな方にはたまらない鰻重だと思います！ 肝吸いはとても優しい味で、濃いめの鰻重とよくバランスが取れていてこれまた美味しいです。 遠いのでなかなか来れませんが、これからもお元気で営業されていて欲しい美味しい定食屋さんです。

It’s a few meters from the Minobu-san bus stop. Karaage here is the best, 日本一！Number one in Japan! My kids and I especially love them, we can have them everyday! Everything is good but my favorite is Unagi. The store owners are very attentive and...
